CAROB SYRUP

2          Boiling water
1/2 C   Honey or sugar
6 tbsp  Carob powder
1 tbsp  Cornstarch
            Pinch of salt
1 tsp    Vanilla

In a saucepan combine the water and sugar or honey and boil for 5 minutes or until syrupy.  Meanwhile dissolve the carob powder, corntarch, and salt in a few drops of hot water.  Add to syrup and boil for another 5 minutes or until thick.  Let cool and stir in vanilla.

Store in a covered container.  Yields about 1-1/2 cups.  2 tbsp will flavor a glass of milk.  Will keep in refrigerator for about a week.
