| CHICKEN SOUP 1 chicken with gizzards ( I add 2-3 chicken legs if feeding a herd) 1 big bag carrots 1 pkg celery 1 big white onion 1/2 bag muller egg noodles get really big pot - put in chicken, contents of gizzard bag, and extra legs if needed - fill to two inches of the top boil for a couple of hours ( 1 1/2 - 2) strain out chicken - in broth put cut up veggies and start to boil - till tender while that's cooking get out your teflon fingers - take all the meat off the bones. Throw away the bones. Throw away the contents of the gizzard pouch. Put aside the chicken. once the veggies have cooked ladel out enough of the broth to boil the noodles in - put that in a seperate pot and cook noodles according to bag. Add to the veggie pot some water and salt and pepper to taste. I also add some garlic powder if the mood strikes. While the noodles are cooking add the chicken back to the veggie pot and bring to a boil. Ladel noodles into individual serving bowl, then a ladel of the "good stuff" ( full of veggies and chicken) and a ladel of the broth. |
