| QUICK SAUSAGE / VEGGIE SAUTE Cook rice the night before and save. I cook up a large batch of Basmati brown rice whenever I run out of what I cooked before. We really like it. Cut approx. 1/2 lb. Hillshire farms Beef Smoked Sausage into bite-sized cubes. Chop 5 small or three big scallions, make sure you use as much of the green part as you can. Shred one carrot. Put all three in a fry pan and saute at med. or med. high You don't need oil because sausage is oily enough! Saute until veges are just done. It only took about 5 to 10 mins. to cook while I made the salad and dressing. Put on heated up brown rice. We added soy sauce to taste, just a bit was good. The shredded carrots add color and a slightly sweet flavor. This doesn't need spices because the sausage has enough flavor that goes into the rest of the food. If you are CS free, I think you could use homemade sausage but you'd need to add something for more zip. |
