1 pound italian sausage ( you can use hamburger)
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup onions - chopped
1 - 4 ounce can mushroom pieces or fresh mushrooms
1 cup mozzarella or jack cheese (or both)
8 ounces of pizza sauce - OPTIONAL
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Grease 12 inch pizza pan or a large cookie sheet with sides. Brown ground beef or sausage but do not over brown. Drain. In a bowl mix flour, spices, milk and eggs. Blend until smooth. Pour batter into greased pan, tilting so that the batter covers the entire bottom. Spoon browned meat over batter. Top with onion and mushrooms. Bake at 425* on lowest oven rack for 20 - 30 minutes or until deep golden brown. Top with cheese return to oven for addtional 5 - 10 minutes to melt cheese. Top with optional sauce if desired. Makes 6 servings.
