HOMEMADE BISCUIT MIX

10 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups solid crisco shortening

In a very large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together. With a pastry blender or by hand, cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Store the mix in a closed container in the regrigerator-it will keep for several months.

to prepare biscuits: Preheat ovean to 450" For every 5-6 biscuits you need, mix 1 cup of the biscuit mix with 1/4 cup milk. on a floured board, rool out the dough 1/2 inch thick, and cut out the biscuits to the desired size. (Do not pack the mixture when measuring. measure Lightly) Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
