| CHEESE CRACKERS 1 stick butter (1/4 pound) 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated like hash browns 1/4 tsp. salt 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sifted flour Soften the butter, add cheese, and salt, mix well. Add the flour and mix well. Shape the dough into 3 rolls and chill overnight. Cut in slices 1/8" thick. Bake in 375 degree oven on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10 minutes. Her original recipe also called for a dash of cayenne pepper (Stage 2?), but I plan on making them plain, then trying other spices...cumin, or a little Italian seasoning mix, maybe. |
