| CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES -3 WAYS The Best Basic/Thin and Crispy: 1 C Butter 3/4 C Brown sugar, packed 3/4 C Sugar 1/2 tsp Baking soda 1/4 tsp Salt 1 Egg 1 tsp Vanilla 2 C Flour 1-1/2 C Semi-Sweet Chocolate Pieces 1 C Walnuts or Pecans Cream sugars, butter together. Add egg, vanilla. Sift dry ingredients into batter and mix. Fold in chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop onto cookie sheet. Basic: Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Thin & Crisp: Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Cake Like: 1/2 C Shortening 1-1/2 C Brown sugar packed 2 Eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp Vanilla 2-1/2 C Flour 1 tsp Baking soda 1/2 tsp Baking powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1-8 ounce Carton of dairy sour cream 1-1/2 C Semi-Sweet chocolate pieces 1 C Walnuts or Pecans Cream shortening, brown sugar together. Add eggs, vanilla. Put in 1/2 the dry and 1/2 the sour cream; mix. Repeat with the other half. Fold in chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 9-11 minutes. |
