| Frosted Butterscotch Cookies
-----COOKIES------ 2 1/2 cups all purp.flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baing soda 1/2 tsp bakng powder 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 8oz carton sourcream 2/3 cup chopped walnuts ------FROSTING ------- 1/2 cp butter 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar 5 tsp boiling water 1 1/2 tsp vanilla for the cookies: Lightly grease cookie sheet and set aside in a medium bowl stir together flour,salt,baking soda,and baking powder - set aside in a mixing bowl beat brown sugar and shotening together with an electric mixer on high until well mixed. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat until combined. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternatly to the beaten mixture, beating after each addition. Stir in chopped walnuts. Drop dough by rounded tsp 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet bake at 375 for 10-12 min until edges are light golden brown. cool completely. -----------FROSTING ----------- In a saucepan heat and stir the butter on med-low heat until golden brown. DO NOT SCORTCH. remove from heat. Stir in the powdered sugar, boiling water, and vanilla. beat until it is easy to spread. spread on cookies. 1g protein - 105 cal per cookie - makes 60 cookies |
