SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES

1 C       Sugar
3/4  C       Shortening
1/4  C       Molasses
1           Eggs
1/2 tsp     Salt
1/2 tsp     Ginger
1 tsp     Cinnamon
2 tsp      Baking soda
2  C  Flour

Cream sugar, shortening, molasses, and eggs.  Sift in all dry ingredients.  Mix well.  Chill for at least 1 hour up to over night.  Roll into balls and then in sugar.  Place on a ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
