BUTTER COOKIE

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Do not chill dough. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and flatten. These work great with cookie stamps.

Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
