MAYONNAISE CAKE WITH FLOUR FROSTING

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease and wax paper 2-8"layer cake pans.

Sift together:
2-1/4 C                      Flour
1/4C + 2-1/4 tbsp     Cocoa
1-1/4 tsp                   Baking soda
1-3/4 C                     Sugar
                                  Pinch of salt

Add to the above:
1-1/4C                      Warm water
1-1/4 C                     Miracle Whip salad dressing
1-1/4 tsp                      Vanilla

Beat until smooth and all lumps are gone.  Put into prepared pans and bake for 40 minutes.  Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans.  Cool.

FLOUR ICING
Stir together and cool in refrigerator until thick.
3 tbsp         Flour
1 C             Milk

Add to flour mixture.

1/2 C           Shortening
1/2 C           Butter
1 C              Sugar
2 tsp            Vanilla

Beat together with electric mixer for 5 to 10 minutes.  Frosting will be fluffy.
Frost cake.
