LENTIL &RICE CASSEROLE

3 c. boiling water
3/4 c. lentils
1/2 c. brown rice
3/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 t. basil
1/4 t. oregano
1/4 t. thyme
1/4 t. garlic powder
1 T. vegetable or "fake" chicken broth mix (powder, granules, etc.), or disolve a couple boullion cubes in the boiling water before adding them.

Mix all together in a casserole dish and bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. This is good also with some shredded cheese just melted over at the end of cooking.

Makes great patties the next day, fried in a little oil, with lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a bun.
