| DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES 3/4 Cup Cocoa 1/2 tsp Baking Soda 2/3 Cup Butter, melted and divided 1/2 Cup Boiling Water 2 Cups Sugar 2 Eggs 1 1/3 Cups Flour 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1/4 tsp Salt 1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts (Optional) 1 3/4 Cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips In large mixing bowl, stir together cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend well. Stir in nuts (if desired) and chocolate chips. Pour into greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350* for 35 to 40 mins (until brownies begin to pull away from pan edges). Cool completely. Cut into squares. Yield: 36 Brownies. |
