| Italian breadsticks
1 C milk 1 packet yeast 1 tsp. salt 1/3 cup veg. oil 2 eggs 3 cups bread flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/3 cup sugar 2 tsp. dried oregano 2 tsp. dried parsley 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Warm the milk in the microwave for about 45 seconds on high. Dissolve the yeast and salt in the milk. Set your bread machine on the dough cycle. Put the oil and eggs in the bread machine. Pour in the milk mixture and the sugar. Add the flour while the machine is kneading all ingredients together. After the machine has made a nice, elastic dough, let it knead in the parsley, oregano, and garlic. When it's done with the dough cycle, roll pieces of dough into sticks, and put them in a parchment-lined pan, about 1 inch apart. Let them sit, covered, in a draft-free place for about 30 mins. Sprinkle them with a little garlic powder and parsley. Bake at 350. Mine needed 13 minutes. |
