| SOUTHERN FRIED STEAK Cube Steak (pound to make tender) 1/2 C Flour 1 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Pepper Mix flour, salt & pepper. Dredge cube steak through flour mixture and fry with oil in a pan until golden brown, turn steak and repeat. 1/4 C flour 1-1/2 C Milk For Gravy: Remove meat and set aside. Leave approximatley 1/4 C oil in skillet along with cracklins. Heat oil and add flour. Stir until hot and brown; add milk and stir until thick. Add meat back in gravy and simmer. Serve with mashed potoates. |
