Lord Celeborn does not have an active role in either the books or the movies. In fact, his role is even less than that of Lady Galadriel's role. He is a prince of Doriath, kinsman to Elu Thingol, the first Sindarin King. He wedded Lady Galadriel sometime in the First Age and they dwelled in Doriath until it was destroyed, whereupon they fled to the Golden Wood. He ruled with his wife the Silvan Elves of the Golden Wood until she took ship and he wearied of being alone. Celeborn went and lived with the sons of Lord Elrond, Elrohir and Elladan until he took ship and sailed West. He had one child with Lady Galadriel named Celebr�an, the mother of Arwen, Elrohir, and Elladan. |
