Stabbing Westward 1985-2002 "A candle burns here
in your honor |

10/21/02: A website for Chris' new band, 'The Dreaming', is tentatively in the works. As for a release date for the album, no date has been set. Chris and the rest of the band are still trying to establish what the sound of The Dreaming will be like. Andy will be drumming on some dates
with Prick. As you may remember, Andy has worked with Prick in the past. The name of the movie that Andy was working on a soundtrack for, "HELL.com" has been changed to "So I Downloaded a Demon". 9/27/02: Check out the most complete list of SW remixes, covers and rare songs on the Soundtracks, Rare CDs and Remixes page. The final poll results from 'Are You Over the Stabbing Westward Breakup' are posted on the SW Poll page. I don't have a new poll up yet because IVC Poll (the previous host of my poll) folded, so I'm looking for a new poll host. 8/23/02: Chris' new band is called 'The Dreaming'. The band consists of Chris (vocals), Johnny Haro (drums) and Warren Huart (guitars). Chris and Warren are writings songs for an album that could be out sometime within the next year or so. Warren and Johnny were both in the band Star 69 and Johnny filled in on drums for Stabbing Westward for when Andy broke his collarbone. Chris may use some songs he wrote before the SW breakup for the new album. He also says the sound of The Dreaming is developing but so far it is closer to old SW than to new SW. The name 'The Dreaming' has a connection to the Sandman comic book series. The Dreaming is a place in the comic book. Sandman has been discontinued for some time now and there is a new spin-off of it called The Dreaming. Dave McKean (whom did the art for Darkest Days) did the artwork for both Comic book series.. 8/18/02: Check out this cool little page about Walter at WHRL's website (Albany, NY). Walter DJ's M-F from 7 p.m. till 12 a.m. Send in your requests and drop Walter a friendly little hello email! 8/13/02: There is new information to report about Andy's and Chris' musical projects- Andy- Andy is playing for Zoe Bonham (daughter of Led Zepplin's John Bonham). However, the type of music is not reminiscent of SW at all. Think of Coldplay or Oasis. This album should be out within the year. He is also collaborating with ex-SW guitarist Mark Eliopulos on a soundtrack for a film called HELL.com! Mark will be playing guitar on Andy's material. No release date as of yet. Lastly, Andy has produced some songs for the Tulsa, OK band Ultrafix. Check them out at http://www.ultrafix.com (thanks to lance for this info).
Chris- This is taken from bryancarlstrom.com News Updates May/June 2002 Carlstrom & Huart are in the studio producing/engineering/co-writing on the latest project with Stabbing Westward's Christopher Hall and Johnny Haro. Stabbing Westward called it quits earlier this year and two of the members have teamed up for an all new project. The music is something quite different from Stabbing Westward, but sure to intrigue SW fans and beyond. The songs are very strong with mass scale hit potential. Keep abreast for more news on the anticipated project. (webmaster's note:Johnny Haro was never an official member of the band. He was just a fill-in drummer while Andy recovered from his rollerblading injury in 98'.) 7/30/02: Lance, webmaster of stabbingwestward.com, has created a new Stabbing Westward mailing list at coolist.com incase Stephen's darkestdays mailing list doesn't come back.To join this list, goto http://www.coollist.com and click on join list, then type in 'stabbingwestward' (no quotes) as the list ID and type in the email addy you want messages sent to. Once you have joined then you can send messages to the list at [email protected]. As you may have noticed the darkestdays mailing list is down, but for unknown reasons. There's reason to believe that it may be experiencing server problems and the old list may once again be online again soon. I urge fans of Stabbing Westward to join the new mailing list. There is also a new Stabbing Westward message board created by StabWest Addicted. 7/23/02: After 8 years, the SW Mailing list has apparently folded. The mailing list homepage at darkestdays.com looks like it has shut down too. This all might just be that Stephen (the one in charge of the mailing list) is just having technical problems and that the list will be online again soon. However, I wouldn't count on it. This looks like the end. For me personally, it would be a very sad thing if the list is indeed gone for good. I've been a list member since I first got onto the internet 4 1/2 years ago. It has brought me a lot of good things in that time. I've made many online friends and even have met numerous list members in person, traded, bought, and sold lot's of rare SW-material, and just generally shared the SW-experience with everyone on there. The show reviews, the stories, the arguing, the heated debates, and the sorrow over the SW-breakup, it was all a great experience.
