Stabbing Westward 1985-2002 "A candle burns here
in your honor |
|
The first time I heard track #5 off of Darkest Days play on my stereo, it hit me in that certain way only very special songs hit me. I think that You Complete Me is one of Stabbing Westward's best songs out of all 4 records. It has a hypnotic power to it. I love the way it goes from being so very mellow and spacey to kick ass head-banging rock. Chris voice makes you melt and I absolutely love Walt's trademark electronic touch to the song. This actually isn't my first SW cover. I did a cover of Dawn for the SW tribute album way back when I was 16 and was just learning MIDI as a sophomore in high school. But this was a lot more fun! I had a blast doing this. I did it all here at home on my Compaq Presario. I used Fruityloops 3.4 to lay down all the parts and structure of the song (bass, synths, drums etc.) EZ Editor to record my guitar and vocal parts, and Magix Music Audio Studio to fine-tune some of my guitar and vocal wavs. I had such a great time doing this one, I'm sure I will be doing more SW covers. Now I just have to decide which ones I'd like to cover!
Please let me know what you think of it :-)
It may so happen that Geocities will temporarily shut my site down if I pass my bandwidth limit after putting this Mp3 up, but oh well. I might just have to find an alternate server for the Mp3.
