Lavender
Olfaction knew
That heavy
Scented room
Where you lay
Sleeping sound
And dreaming
Of your groom

The light
Was dim
As I came in
And slipped
Neath eider quilt
N'er did you stir
Nor did you wake
When lover's touch
Was deemed

Quiet lying
In the dark
That cloaked
My life
And thine
I thanked
The Lord
And praised
His name
For giving
Thee to me.
