The waters lapping gently against the beach,
Their warm foamy glow massaging the shore,
The ocean waves tumble and roll,
Intense blue in their color,
From the deepest darkness,
She emerges.
She emerges from the cold darkness,
Her eyes bright with hope,
Her hands reaching out,
For hope, for you,
Her long wet hair hanging down her back,
Dripping salt water down her dress,
Raven black as the sky,
She stares at you,
Reaching for you.
Tears flowing on her cheeks,
But a new glow brightened her cheek,
When you reached to touch her hand.
She falls into your arms,
Her tears running freely like rain,
Soaking her face and gown,
But you hold her, tightly,
Hold her tightly in your arms,
Kissing her wet and salty face,
Loving her so deeply.
Your arms are her protector,
Warming her against the cold bleakness,
And the dark for which she had been living,
The blackness of the deep sea,
The coldness of the deep sea,
She emerges
She lives
You saved her.
You saved me.
