Few hours later in her lunch break.
"Hey B wanna come with us in the park?" "Yeah sure girls". But when they crossed the street B saw something weird, she saw a boy who looked like Johnny fighting with a girl next to a car, then the couple got in to the car and continued their fight there.
"She had sex with him, and now she wants to tell it to his girlfriend".
"He insists on letting him tell his girlfriend the truth, but she doesn't want to"
"And what did you expect from her? She was drooling after him ever since she came back to town"
And the girls vent on and on until B stopped them: "Cmon girls lets not talk bout it anymore, its their business not ours"
"Oh just when we were getting at the juicy stuff!"
"Yeah!"
"Yeah! Did you know that when they were together they almost got married?"
"Yes it's true you know, they were engaged, but then she had to go to faculty in to another town so he broke up with her, and he met his actual girlfriend right in this town"
"But the funny thing is that she's not from here, she's from a small town just like you B"
Hearing those words Beatrice got the chills; she was feeling like they were talking about her, that the boy was Johnny and that maybe the call that she got last night wasn't a joke. "No, No, No and No. Johnny would never do that to me" she thought to herself.
"Oh you're so lucky with your Johnny, he's such a nice guy, the only problem is that we never met him"
"Yeah when r you gonna introduce him to us, maybe he has some handsome friends for us "
"Girls I already told you his friends r not like him, and I hadn't introduced you to him because he's always working "
"OK we heard that a lot of times before, you know if we wouldn't seen you a couple of times together we would say that he's cheating on you"
"But you look so good together, I mean from distance cause we never saw you face to face, standing in front of our noses "
"Lol! You girls r crazy, why would we stand in front of your noses? So you can gossip all our lil moves in a novel?"
"Hey! That's not true! We would write only a book about all the juicy details," they say with a naughty smile.
"Yuck! You girls disgust me! You're crazy" The girls start to laugh out loud. Beatrice is embarrassed.
"Ok, ok, ok. Enough!" She says and walks away.
"Where r you going? We were just kidding, don't get upset. Cmon B"
"No, its ok, I'm not mad at you girls, I just have to go. Later!"
"Later!"
On her way back home Beatrice was thinking constantly of that couple that she saw on the street and about those things the girls told her bout them. "Poor boy, he's in big trouble, but I wonder did he told his girlfriend that he was engaged and that he almost got married with his ex? But then again who likes to talk about their ex, I didn't even tell my Johnny about my ex and I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't like to talk bout it"
Bip, bip! Oh that's my cell "it's a message from Johnny: I'm waiting for you, where r you?" Beatrice's heart is beating faster and faster as she gets near the door of their apartment. It's beating so fast that she feels it in her throat and that she can barely breath.
