The next morning I wake up late. Lee's not there, but Tia's sitting next to the bed.
"Tia, he's�"
"Sssh, I know. Lee told me everything." She gives me a big hug.
"Aren't you supposed to be in bed? You've got the flu."
"No, that's almost over. You're much worse than I am, so I'm here for you," she says sweetly. "I brought you some of my clothes. Come one, you need to get out of bed, it's almost noon," she smiles encouraging at me.
"There's no reasong to get out of bed. I'm gonna stay here all day long," I sigh and lie back.
"No, you're not," she says convinced. "I'm gonna help you to take a shower, and Lee made breakfast for you," she says and helps me to get out of bed. I've never felt so weak before.
"Tia," I suddenly realize something, "did Sy know it?"
"Yes. I realized that after Lee had told me this morning. I asked Sy, and he admitted it," she says looking at the floor.
"And?" "I got really angry at him. We had a fight and I left the house," she sighs.
"Oh great! And that all because of me," I call out.
"No, because of Dunk," she says in a sharp voice. It feels like I shrink every time I hear his name.
"I want you to go back to Sy and make up with him," I say to Tia. "Otherwise I'll have even more to worry about."
"Okay honey. But later today, I'm not gonna leave you now," she smiles really sweet. I give her a big hug.
I take a shower and dress with the clothes Tia brought for me. I sit down on the bed and give a deep sigh.
"You know what's the most terrible about it? I didn't see it coming at all. We were so in love, even after all this time. We were doing great!" I call out crying at Tia.
"I know honey, I know. It's unbelievable." She gives me a hug and a big kiss on my cheek.
Lee walks in. "Hi! I already thought I heard you were awake," he smiles encouraging at me. I give him a weak smile back. Thank God he doesn't ask me how I'm doing. He's so sensitive!
"I got to go now sweetie," Tia says and kisses me goodbye.
"Okay. Talk to Sy today!" I remind her.
"I will, don't worry about that!" she smiles and leaves.
"Come, I made breakfast for you," Lee smiles and reaches his hand out for me. I take his hand and get up from the bed.
"Not hungry," I sigh.
"I know baby," he says and takes my hand in his both hands. He looks deep into my eyes. "But I want you to eat anyway."
I put my arms around his neck and give him a hug. "You're too nice to me," I say.
"Nobody's ever too nice for you sweetheart," he whispers in my ear. He takes my hand again and we go downstairs.
"Don't you eat?" I ask while eating.
"No, I had breakfast hours ago," he shakes his head.
"Than you must be hungry again. It's lunch time," I frown.
"But I made this for you!"
"I know, and it's very sweet of you. But do you really think I'm gonna eat all this?" I say with a tiny little smile.
"Yes. Aren't you?" he asks innocent.
"No! Look at all this food! I wouldn't even eat it if I was pregnant!" I shake my head smiling.
"Of course I know. But now I made you smile," he grins. I give him a kiss on his cheek.
"I've had enough. You can eat the rest," I say. I watch him while he eats the rest of the huge amount of food.
"Lee?" He stops eating and looks at me. "Don't you have to go to him? I mean, he's your best friend�" I say with difficulty.
"No! You're my best girlfriend. He made a mistake, and you're not the one who's gonna pay for it! I'm staying with you," he shakes his head violently.
"You truly are the best," I say emotional and give him a hug.
"I'm not. I'm just trying to be good, but I'll never be good enough for you," he says looking down at the floor.
"Yes you are! You're my best friend," I whisper in his ear, still hugging him.
"Can you do me a favor?" I ask when he finally lets go off me.
"Anything," he nods.
"I've got loads of messages on my phone. Can you please listen if there's other messages than from� him?"
"Of course," he nods. "Wow! 19 voice messages and 6 text messages!" he calls out. I nod with a sad face.
"Don't worry baby," he strokes my cheek. I start cleaning up the table.
"Don't, I'll do that later," he protests.
"No, I can't sit around doing nothing all day. It'll drive me crazy," I sigh.
"Okay," he shrugs and goes to the living room to listen to all my messages.
After a while he comes back.
"And?" I ask.
"Mostly Dunk. You got one message from your mum, she asks if you can call her back."
"I'll do that later," I nod.
"And some messages from Nicky. You didn't call her yesterday. I think you said you would call her? First she thought you had other things to do, but this morning she left a couple of messages because she's worried because you didn't call her."
"Aww, sweet Nicky! I'll call her now," I give a little smile.
"Erm� I got to go to the supermarket. Shall I go now, or are you coming with me later?" he asks.
"Go now, than I have some time alone to call Nicky."
"Okay. Call me if you need me," he smiles and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I give him a kiss back and he leaves. I sit down on the couch with a box of tissues and my phone. I take a deep breath and call Nicky.
She's really shocked and horrified when she hears everything. I have to cry again for a long time, but after a while Nicky makes me feel better. She's happy to hear that Lee's taking care of me. After a long long talk I put down the phone.
A couple of minutes later Lee carefully pokes his head around the corner.
"Hi, I didn't know you were back," I say.
"Yeah, a long time, but it didn't want to disturb you. You talked to Nicky, right?" he asks sweetly. I nod and feel tears building in my eyes again.
"You're all being so sweet to me," I snivel.
"Not everybody," Lee says with a dark look in his eyes.
"Lee! Don't!" I sob.
"I'm sorry babe. Come here," he gives me a hug and kisses on my hair.
"I rented some dvd's for you," he says after a while.
"Really? Which ones?" I break away from his hug.
"Some of your favorites," he smiles.
"How do you know which movies are my favorites?" I ask surprised.
"Well, now and than you mention one. And I remembered it."
"Wow, I didn't expect that!" I call out. He gives me the bag with the dvd's.
"Aww can I watch one right now?" I ask holding up the 'Grease' dvd.
"Sure, whatever you want honey," he nods.
"Will you keep me company?" I ask.
"Sure, if you want that," he nods again. He puts the movie on and sits down next to me on the couch. I cuddle up against him, with my head on his shoulder. He puts his arm around me.
When Danny and Sandy kiss, I give a deep sigh, and Lee softly squeezes my hand�
