CHAPTER 21

"Come on," I say to Lee and take his hand.Hand in hand we walk back to the center of the city.
"It's getting cold," I shiver. He puts his arm around my shoulders.
"Is that better?" he grins.
"Yeah. You're always nice and warm," I grin and put my arm around his waist.
We sit down at a bench in a park. I lay my head on his shoulder. "I think I had too much wine," I sigh.
"And I had too much beer," he grins.
"But that last story you told to Bas was great," I start laughing again.
"Hehe," he grins. We both have a fit of laughter again. On a bench close by a couple sits down. They're about 20 years old I guess. They're all over eachother. Lee wistles between his teeth. They look up at us, Lee quickly pretends to be talking to me. They go on snogging eachother.
"Wooow, you can't do that in public," Lee says shocked. I think the couple heard something, because they look at us again.
"Ooh, yes you can," I wink at Lee and put my arms around him.
"Really?" he winks back.
"Sure," I grin.
"They're looking at us," he grins.
"I know," I whisper, I can hardly hold my laughter.
"Wanna pretend like we can snog worse than they do?" he grins.
"That's just what I was thinking," I grin back. I sit on his lap backwards and push my body close to his body. He wraps his arms around my waist, under my coat, so nobody can see where his hands really are. I wrap my arms around his neck. He gives me a loud kiss on my cheek.
"Are they looking at us?" I whisper in his ear.
"Yeah, they're definitely looking," he whispers back. I pretend to be licking his ear.
"You're crazy," I grin.
"I'm crazy? Than you are crazy too," he whispers back, with his mouth on my ear.
"I'm crazy? Why?" I grin and look deep into his eyes.
"Because you're pretending to be snogging me," he says and pretends to be kissing my neck.
"But it was your idea," I whisper with my mouth close to his mouth.
"But you said you had the same idea," he grins and gives me kisses all over my cheeks.
"Oh, right. Yeah, you're right," I grin back and pretend to kiss him in his neck, below his ear. "Oh, Lee, you make me hot," I joke and open his coat.
"Am I?" he winks and opens my coat too. He gives me a big hug.
"Are they still looking?" I ask, because I can't see it, I'm still sitting backwards on Lee's lap.
"Yep, they're looking at us," he laughs quietly. I feel his hands going lower and lower over my back.
"Lee!" I whisper urgently.
"What?" he asks innocent. His hands are still going lower.
"Get your hands off my ass," I whisper.
"Why? I'm just giving them something to look at," he grins and squeezes me softly. In a reflex I push myself closer to him.
"Hey!" I whisper. He grins broadly at me.
"What? I'm just having some fun," he laughs with his mouth at my ear.
"Fun with my ass?" I giggle.
"You've got a nice ass," he laughs back.
"Okay, that's enough," I whisper and pretend to be kissing his neck. "Get your hands away from there."
"Okay," he gives me a boyish grin. "Oh, look! They're leaving," he laughs softly in my ear. I turn around and see the couple walking away, looking very angry at us. I smile very sweet and innocent at them. Lee strangles his laughter in my hair. When the couple is away he laughs out loud.
"Yeah, we won," I grin at him. "Oh-oh, all those people now think we're a couple," I say when I see lots of people around us.
"Let them think whatever they want. Come on honey, let's get away from here," he grins at me.
"Okay sweetie," I grin back. We stand up and he puts his arm around my shoulders, I put my arm around his waist.
"Oh, wait, before you get cold again," he stops walking and kneels down in front of me. He closes my coat and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I can hardly hold my laughter. We put our arms around eachother again and walk out of the park.
After a couple of minutes we both start laughing out loud.
"That was sooo funny," he laughs.
"We are crazy," I laugh, almost choking.
"Yes, we are," he says proud.
"Let's get a drink," I suggest. He nods and we go to a pub to get some bottles of coke.
"Wanna sit down?" Lee asks me.
"Yeah, we'll have to stand the rest of the evening," I nod.
"No free places here. Come on," he says and takes my hand. It's very crowded indeed. "Enough space here," he says and sits down at the edge of the street, with his back against a wall.
"Oww, my coat will get dirty," I point at the wall.
"Typically a girl. You can sit here, I'm not dirty," he points in front of him.
"You're dirty. But I guess my coat won't get dirty from a dirty mind," I grin. He puts out his tongue at me and pulls my hand. I sit down in front of him, between his legs, with my back leaning against his chest. He wraps his arms around me. I rest my head back, with my cheek against his cheek. We silently drink our coke.
"You know, you're the only guy I can be so close with, without anything else. You know what I mean?" I say.
"Yeah, I know. You're the only girl I can do that with," he answers. It's a beautiful night, we can see the stars. I can feel Lee's warmth around me. Suddenly I get some inspiration to write. I get some paper and a pen out of my pockets.
"You always carry that around?" Lee quietly asks. I nod. I start to write. Lee's reading everything I write, closely following every move.

Embrace

How far you go
doesn't have anything to do with distance
Maybe only with time
And I don't know why it is
that I want to leave
But it hits me hard and pure
and it stands firm stubbornly
So here I stand
with a reaching hand

My love, go with me
Embrace me
Hug me, embrace me
My love, go with me
Embrace me
Hug me, embrace me
And take me nowhere

How deep you go
doesn't have anything to do with thinking
Maybe only with wanting
And it feels like I know
where I'm going
It takes me into the dark
and it defies all reason
So here I stand
with a reaching hand

My love, go with me
Embrace me
Hug me, embrace me
My love, go with me
Embrace me
Hug me, embrace me
And take me nowhere

My love, go with me
Embrace my body and soul
embrace my delusional goal
Embrace me, hug me

My love, go with me
Embrace my whole past
embrace my seven seas at last
Embrace me, hug me
and take me nowhere

How strong you stand
doesn't have anything to do with gravity
Maybe only with the wind

I wrote it all down without stopping or correcting anything. I turn my head to look at Lee when I'm finished writing.
"I'm impressed. There's a lot going on inside here," he smiles and gently taps the top of my head.
"It's about our friendship. Because I know that there's also a lot going on inside your head," I smile.
"You really are the sweetest girl that I know," he smiles and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I give him a big hug.
