CHAPTER 16

The next day

Duncan took me to the studios, where they will be working all day. I already received an email from one of my friends, with loads of stuff that I should read. I was a bit disappointed, because now I couldn't watch and hear the guys working. But I decided to go to the studio with them anyway. I took my discman and work with me.
So here I am, in a little room in the studio. Through a big window I can see the guys, I can also hear them. After listening to them for a while, I start to study. I have to put on my music pretty loud, or I will still hear the guys, and that distracts me a lot. I'm listening to one of my oldest favorite cd's: Prince and the Revolution. It's great music for studying, it makes me read very fast.
When the cd's finished, I've read a lot of pages and I decide to give myself some rest and listen to relaxing music. I sit back and put my feet on the table. I take another article to read. He he, this music is so great. It's totally different from the music I usually listen to. I put my hands behind my head and close my eyes.
"Waky waky," someone calls loudly in my ear. I almost fall off my chair of fright.
"Hey!" I call out and kick Lee. Of course it was Lee who startled me.
"I've never seen anybody be so relaxed and have such a big smile at the same time," Simon smiles.
"He took a pic of you," Ant points at Dunk.
"What for?" I frown.
"You looked like an angel fallen from heaven," Dunk smiles.
"Do I look so bad, so crashed? It's a long way from heaven to here," I grin.
"You looked like you were in heaven. Was it the music or were you dreaming about something?" Simon asks curious.
"I think she was dreaming," Dunk calls.
"Too bad for you boy. It was the music," I grin.
"Really? Must be great music. What was it? Blue?" Lee grins.
"No."
"Di-rect?" Dunk asks.
"No."
"Backstreet Boys?" Ant asks.
"No."
"Prince?" Simon asks.
"No."
"Live?"
"Nick Carter?"
"Aaron Carter?"
"Justin Timberlake?"
"Enrique Iglesias?"
"A Dutch band?" They keep on asking, one by one.
I keep on shaking my head. "A girl."
"Sugababes?"
"Pink?"
"Britney Spears?"
"Christina Aguilera?"
"Dido?" They go on guessing.
"You've named about every cd that I own. You can go on guessing another 10 rounds, but you wont' get it," I grin.
"Tell us. What girl can make yu feel like you're in heaven? I thought you only liked male singers. So if a girl can make you feel in heaven with her music, imagine what she can do to us," Lee asks with a naughty smile.
"She's a very handsome girl with long blond hair, about 20 years old. I think she can make you feel in heaven," I grin at Lee. "But I don't know if you like her music," I laugh. Lee looks like he's offended, the others laugh out loud.
"Very nice," Lee says to me. I punch him at his arm.
"Stupid girl," he grins and punches me back.
"It's Joss Stone, the Soul Sessions," I say and take the cd from my discman. Simon puts it in a cdplayer.
"Oh, come on. This is not a blond, 20 year old girl," Ant calls out unbelievingly after a couple of minutes.
"No, it's a black woman," Duncan shakes his head.
"You're wrong. She really is a white girl!" I call out. They all shake their heads unbelievingly.
"You're trying to fool us," Lee says.
"No, really! How can I make you believe? The cd case is at home. I'm not lying," I call out.
"Okay, I believe you," Dunk smiles. The others still give me a doubtful look.
"Anyway, it's great music," Simon smiles.
"Good enough to keep you off your homework," Lee points at my pile of articles.
"Any music can keep me off studying. Any sound can keep me off it," I grin.
"Oh, come on. You always study hard," Lee calls out.
"You think so? I only study hard when I really have to."
"That's not true. Is it, Dunk?" Lee asks Duncan.
"She isn't a saint," he grins.
"I can be so lazy, that I even annoy myself," I say.
"Bit by bit we see little parts of the real you," Ant grins.
"You seem to have some nasty habits. But you're still great. How do you do that?" Simon asks.
"Yeah, they keep on nagging me about my bad habits, but nobody does that to you!" Lee calls out.
"That's because she looks like a sweet innocent girl," Dunk grins.
"But I'm not. Could you imagine Dunk with a sweet innocent girl?"
"No!" they all call out.
"If I imagine what girl would fit with Dunk, than you must have a lot more bad things that we don't know about," Ant frowns.
"That's right. And I want to keep it that way. You don't have to know everything," I grin. "That reminds me of something an ex-classmate of me used to say: Good girls go to school, bad girls go to London."
"That makes you a bad girl who pretends to be good," Lee grins.
"Exactly! And that's the way all girls should be," Dunk says and wraps his arms around me.
"This music is not good for a working day, it's too relaxed," Dunk says.
"Yeah, making me lazy," Simon nods.
"Lunchtime," Lee and Ant say at the same time.

We're having lunch, and relaxing a little. My cell rings.
"Hello?"
"Hi, it's Nicky."
"Hey Nicky!" I call out. I've got the attention of the guys immediately.
"What the f*ck have you been doing there? With Duncan?" Nicky shouts in my ear.
"What? What are you talking about?" I cry out surprised.
"You're in a magazine! They have pictures of you and Duncan!"
"What? What pictures?"
"You and Duncan with a baby! A bby!"
"A baby? We don't have a baby!" I shout back at her, very surprised.
"That's what the magazine says: Duncan Blue and his girlfriend have a lovebaby. Not very long ago we discovered that Duncan James from the famous boyband Blue has found the love of his life. At least that's what insiders said about the new couple. Now it turns out that they have a baby. How did they succeed in keeping that a secret for such a long time?" she reads for me.
"Where did they get that crap from? We don't have a baby. Oh come on, nobody will believe that story!" I call out.
"Everybody believes it! It's only one magazine who tells the story, they say they have exclusive pictures, the magazine was sold out immediately," she tells.
"What pictures are it? Is it really Dunk and me?"
"Yes, it's definitely dunk and you and a baby. You holding a baby, Dunk sitting next to you giving you a kiss. And you standing with a baby, Dunk giving you a diaper bag. Very clear pictures. They say they're recent, taken last Saturday," she shouts.
Saturday? "Wait a second. Did you say Saturday? Last Saturday?" I ask her.
"That's what the magazine says."
"Whahahaha," I start laughing out loud. "That's not That's" I try to say. I'm laughing so hard now that I can't talk anymore. I almost fall off my chair, I have to hold on to Dunk. "Whahahaha," I can't stop laughing.
Lee takes my phone from me. "Nicky? Iris has gone mad. What did you say to her?" I hear hem saying in my phone.
"It was Emilie," I succeed to say.
"What?" Lee asks.
"It was Emilie," I shout in my phone.
"Oh my God. It was Ant's daughter?" Nicky shouts out.
"Yes of course. So now you're the only one who knows the truth," I laugh.
"Can I tell my friends?" she asks.
"Yes of course. Tell anybody you want. Hey, I gotta go now, they want to know what's going on," I say because they guys are all talking to me, asking what's so funny.
"Okay, explain them. Bye sweetie."
"Bye honey."

"You're not gonna believe this," I laugh. I tell them the whole story, sometimes I have to stop because I can't stop laughing.
When I've finally finished telling we're all laughing very hard. This time I really fall off my chair, together with Dunk. I tried to hold on to him, but instead we both fell down. We're shaking with laughter, rolling over the floor. After many minutes we finally stop laughing.
"He he," I sigh.
"This is the most crazy story they've ever written about me," Dunk laughs.
"It can't get much weirder," Simon shakes his head laughing.
