JUSTYN'S FAVORITE
PITTSBURGH PLACES*
BEST BREAKFAST: RITTERS DINER- Not only is this a best breakfast in the morning, but at all times during the day. It's good, real good.
BEST ASIAN FOOD: ZAWS ASIAN FOOD - For a little out of the way restaurant that is usually meant only for take-out, this is the best Asian food this side of the world. Located on lower Murray, if you don't catch the green awning, you will miss it.
BEST COFFEE: COFFEE TREE ROASTERS - By far Pittsburgh's best coffee. Where what ever is brewing is the best coffee. Try Continental Blend, mmmm. Located in several places, but the one which I frequent is on Forbes Ave. in Squirrel Hill.
BEST BAR: GULIFTY'S - While the bar is the smoking section, to create the largest nonsmoking section in the city, the bartenders there make the best drinks; not just rum and coke or Long Island Ice Teas, but whatever you want to pass away the time, it is the best there. Located on Murray Ave. in Squirrel Hill.
BEST BAR FOOD: SQUIRREL HILL CAFE (THE CAGE) - Talk about a smoky, dirty place, but don't let that fool you; they have the most excellent hamburgers. Located on Forbes Ave. in Squirrel Hill. Just visited Silky's in Squirrel Hill and their hamburgers are better, but you gotta love the cage.
BEST PARTY: SOUTH SIDE - See how many drinks you can have before you either; A. pass out, or B. run out  of money. P.S. Take a bus: I hate being the designated driver and so do your friends. Don't drink and drive!
BEST COMIC STORE: EIDES - In the comic community, I used to hate these guys, but after being in the business for a while, they are actually, on a comic peer level, all nice guys. Eides has everything and thats all you need to know.
BEST PIZZA: NAPOLI'S - From pizza to pasta, they have the best pizza-type food in the 'burgh. Located on Murray Ave.
BEST WINGS: BUFFALO BLUES - On a Wednesday, it is all you can eat wings and you get your moneys worth. Located on South Highland in Shady Side.
BEST MALL: MONROEVILLE - They have done a lot of work since it was used in "Dawn of the Dead. Has the basics and more.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD: DI PEITRO'S - Located in the city's North Hills, nicest owner, coupled with the best Italian food equals a pleasurable experience with a taste of Italy, Ciao.
BEST SPAGHETTI: THE SPAGHETTI WAREHOUSE - True I have selected a different place for Italian food, but the best  spaghetti is here. The atmosphere is nice and you get a lot of food for your dollar. Located on 26th street in the strip; a block away from the Ale Works. Make an evening out of it.
BEST SHOPPING: THE WATERFRONT - You want Old Navy, the GAP, Target, or a dozen and a half more stores, with enough restaurants and nightlife to make you go back there the next day and buy a larger size?
BEST MEXICAN FOOD: EL CAMPISINOS - Its a far way out in Monroeville but its worth the schlep. I love hot sauce. I put it in   everything. This is where it all started. Good house hot sauce.
BEST PARK: SOUTH PARK - No not the cartoon, the place. Here, they hold concerts, usually for free, have a skating rink: both ice and roller, a pool, and a bunch of other things to do on a hot, or  cold, summer day and night.
BEST BARBER SHOP: MARIANO'S - He is old and from Italy, but he has a firm hand and swings those scissors like he knows what he is doing. He has been my barber for ten years and when he goes my hair grows.
BEST MOVIE THEATER: LOWES - I hate it too, but my original theater I had in the place of Lowes, Showcase East, closed, so good for Lowes(sarcastic).
BEST MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD: MEDITERRANEAN GRILL - Now this one is one for which you will have to look. It is buried deep under 5824 Forbes Ave.They have everything all of the other Mediterranean places have with one exception: BYOB. Nuff said.

(*These selections contained within Justyn's Favorites are not supposed to be thought of as the know-all greatest Pittsburgh places, but as my favorites. Whatever conclusions you, the surfer, decide about any of the given places is your own opinion. Living in Pittsburgh all of these years, I feel as though I have a good idea of what I think are the best for me, and what I like the best. I will not be held responsible for persons who try my favorites and hate it. I also know that some of these places are not located in the city but I mean the best in the city and surrounding suburbs.)
