| 3rd single from "Pushing The Senses". This is the best single from the album, and one I heavilly praised in my review for the album itself!, but sadly is also Feeder's smallest hit single in 6 years :-(. I just don't get it, it's had hardly any airplay, and the only reason I can think why is maybe radio pluggers don't like the song, WHY!!!!???. If it wasn't for downloads it would not have been their smallest in 6 yrs. The b-sides on the CD are very slick, with "I For You" being an uplifting affair with soaring guitar solos and vocals, while "Crowd of Stars" is very much like the "Redemption" of the "Pushing The Senses" era, and one I really do like and is a grower. The Pete Lavelle mix of "Feeling a Moment" sounds different to the original, with basically the sonics and dimensions on the sounds being twidded about with to offer a different atmosphere in the song and works very well. Overall a brilliant single treated with injustice by the radio stations. |

| Well, where do I start?, the fans wanted it, the band gave em it, and an exellent year of critic defying ends in style on the releases front with this top AA side from the Russian flick "Nightwatch". Originally a B-side to "Tumble and Fall", 2.500 fans petitioned for the release of the song as a single, and it came along in style with a list of names who petitioned on the DVD, and with "Tender" from "Pushing The Senses" to back it up! :D. "Shatter", I've praised to bits in the "Tumble and Fall" single review, but can I just say this is the best song let alone single of 2005? :D, the b-side "Everybody Hurts" isn't bad either, I like it as much as the original and the emotion of the song shines through when you watch it alongside the Warchild video on the DVD, it has me nearly in tears, but when I watch that film with the song playing at the same time, the emotion is more raw. Also, the Roll of Honour, is like film credits hence the track being on a film soundtrack, and the menus are like the intro to a film as well! :D.The theme of the whole CD works brilliantly, and the making of documentary is well funny, especially when Grant makes a loud roar to the cameraman when he calls him "The Prince of Darkness"!. This is a bluddy good single set, not just cos of "Shatter", but the whole thing!. The single charted at a superb #11 (and #9 in Scotland!), and even more so when you consider we were up against U2, and a few other worldwide smash hit singles that week, good stuff I say and the TOTP performance was a blinder!. |
