| Now it was time for one of my Highlights from the night before. "Bitter Glass." This song is in the mould of the Feeder Of Old, a rocking tune that will get the crowd going. It was excellently accompanied by the Light Display which was outstanding!! Just when the crowd are recovering we then had "Pilgrim Soul." Remember from the start of this review I was saying why I thought this was better than the 28th? Well, this is why......... Most fans think, "Pilgrim Soul" is one of the favourite tracks on "Pushing The Senses." When you go to a concert, one of the best things about it is hearing the tracks live and also the band interacting with the fans. This song was made to be played live and as for the band interacting, well, lets just say we certainly were not let down. The place was rocking, everyone by this stage was soaking with sweat, covered in beer and god knows what else and the guys stopped playing half way through the song. This was met with rapturous applause. Grant looked rather taken aback as we were all going mental. We all knew the song wasn't finished so why cheer before the end? Well, the reason for this was Mark. He had removed the Feeder Hoodie to reveal our National Football teams shirt and unaware to the rest of the band he was flashing the badge to the little camera on his drums which showed up on the large screen behind the guys. The response was unbelievable as we all went crazy. There hasn't been that much Scottish pride since James McFadden rattled one by Holland. Remember this was an Englishman. Englishmen hate Scotland when it comes to football just as us Scots hate England. You don't see Englishmen wearing Scotland shirts (unless he has a Scottish Gran and is decent at Football). You would never get a Scotsman wearing an England shirt and for this we made Mark and an Honorary Scotsman. Mark later said in his excellent tour diary that it was one of his highlights of the Tour. It was mine too Mark so if you ever fancy coming to a game at Hampden you will be more than welcome!...... What a high we were all on by now and we were even more pleased as the opener from the last tour "Come Back Around" was next followed by the old school "Descend." I felt like I was the only one singing along and I think that song has made some of the newer fans go out and buy the older albums as they realise that Feeder have a lot more rockier songs in their Locker. Time for another sing along with "We Can't Rewind" which was followed by the seriously rocking "Insomnia" during which Grant takes to each part of the stage to salute the crowd. Now it was time for "Buck Rogers." The guys start toying with us by doing a slow version of the intro and when we least expected it they kicked into the real thing. That song has been around for years now but never fails to get the crowd going. Just as it finishes, the guys then take a well deserved couple of minutes to compose themselves backstage and the "FEEDER" chants kick in once again. They re-emerge for the encore and its time for the classic that is "High." That song is one of my favourites and if it were to be released now it would surely do well in the charts as It will never go out of date. It was time for the calm before the storm with "Forget About Tomorrow" another spinetingleing track and now it was time for the fans favourite. Cue the "DOO DOO DOO DOO, DOO DOO DOO DOO'S"........... This was what most people were looking forward to and were not let down as the guys belt it out as they always do as if it were their last ever gig. We all start the "FEEDER" chants again as the guys finish and a fan (who I later found out was weedebs from the members forum) throws on some novelty rabbit ears which Taka decides to put on and starts bouncing about the stage like a rabbit on heat!!.....See that is why I love Feeder, not just because the music they make is first class but its also the time and appreciation they show their fans. The 28th of March was my 12th time seeing Feeder and 29th was the 13th. Was it unlucky?.....Nope. NO WAY. This is Feeder we are talking about here. The band I love and have so much passion for, they will in my opinion, never have a bad gig!. Clarke Speirs (ComfortInFeederSound) |
