2001: Yet again Feeder enjoy the biggest year of their career at the time. It starts off where 2000 ended in which "Buck Rogers" started getting airplay, and on the 14th Jan 2001 it charts at an incredible #5 after a nerve-racking 2 hours 30 mins listening to the top 40 in Radio 1 for all of Feeder's fans. It felt like #1!!!!.

This starts off an amazing year, in which 2 tours promoting "Echo Park" get sold out and they get their second hit in which "Seven Days In The Sun" charts at a respectable #14 in April the same night the boys play Newcastle uni (8th April). The album "Echo Park" is released to widespead acclaim despite some people not being too keen on it's commercial edge. It makes #5 in the album chart and ships over 100.000 in a matter of 6 weeks going gold. Previous album "Yesterday Went Too Soon" goes silver later in the year shipping over 60.000 with "Polythene" getting near that figure.

They play the main stage at Reading again, going even more higher up on the bill shortly after "Turn" charts at #27 in July helping the sales of "Echo Park" double to over 200.000. The performance at Reading is one of many amazing appearances over the weekend with it being my fave, and many fans fave of the weekend too
:-), it sees the crowd go as far as the back of the arena!. They also play T In The Park which rocked!.

It turns out to be a very busy year, with TV appearances ahoy all over europe such as MTV UK in which they appeared at the "5 Night Stand", MTV Germany, MTV Europe, Channel 4's "Big Breakfast", CD:UK, The Priory, BBC1's "Top of The Pops" in which they recorded 5 performances- more than anybody else that year, and "Pop of The Pops Plus" which was like an interviews show, amongst many others. The highlight however has to be "Later With Jools Holland" in which they made their debut performing "Buck Rogers" also opening the show, "Just A Day" and "Can't Stand Losing You" which ended the series!. They win "Best Live Act" at the Kerrang! awards!.

Shortly after the Jools Holland debut, "Just A Day" which is a b-side from "Seven Days In The Sun" CD1 gets released as a single as the "Just A Day EP" after many fans said it should be an A-side. It charts at #12 and becomes the christmas #16 after impressively staying in the top 20 surviving the Christmas rush for singles in the race for Christmas #1. It goes on to become their best selling single to date, having 4 weeks in the top 20.
2002: An incedibly tragic year for everyone, as drummer Jon Lee comitts suicide in his Miami home on the 7th January 2002, his tragic death gets reported on Radio 1 two days later. Over a thousand fans attend his funeral in Newport.

The boys decide to continue the same day his death gets reported on radio 1, as that would be what Jon wanted to see happen. They decide to take a break for the next 7 months out of the public eye and Grant decides to write songs about their loss, and Taka goes back to Japan.

Soon later the guys meet up again recruiting former Skunk Anasie drummer Mark Richardson who is an unofficial member at present, to work on the new songs together. Soon later a series of songs are recorded for the yet untitled album with emmerging titles as "Child In You" and "Come Back Around". It soon gets named "Comfort In Sound" and a provisional picture of an angel is put up on the Roadrunner Records site as possible artwork for the album. It soon becomes the official confirmed artwork, and the album is completed shortly before July in which first single "Come Back Around" gets played for the first time on Steve Lamac's "Evening Session".

The guys confirm a headlining Evening Session tent appearance at Reading, and on August 23rd 2002 Feeder play an amazingly emotional show which I still remember to this day with happiness and emotion. The tent gets overcrowded going over it's capacity, and Grant introduces new song "Quickfade" to "absent friends" after saying that it's one of the hardest gigs he's ever had to play.

The gig gets KKKKK in Kerrang!, and gets well recieved by the press, like their 1997 appearance.

Soon later in October "Come Back Around" charts at #14, totalling up 5 top 75 weeks aided by a re-entry, with 2 of those on the top 40. Their album "Comfort In Sound" gets widespead critical-acclaim unlike any other album they've ever put out, and charts at #6 shipping over 100.000 in the same week going gold, which is also the week of release.
2003: Feeder's most sucsessful year at the time, which sees "Just The Way I'm Feeling" get delayed by a week thanks to a pressing-plant mess-up, and so Feeder organise a signing to make up for the error at HMV Oxford Street. The signing sees Feeder play an acoustic set, and 1.3 thousand copies of the single all being sold out and signed the same day. The single makes it to #10 at the end of the week giving Feeder their 8th TOTP appearance. It goes on to become the 74th most heard song on UK radio that year, and 192nd best-selling single. Shortly before JTWIF charts the album makes it back into the top 40 at #35 climbing up from last weeks #72. It has 3 weeks on the top 20 on it's second re-entry, reaching #13 and goes up to 17 top 75 weeks in total at the time, doubling up the sales to 200.000. At the same time Feeder are already playing their sell-out tour, which sees a memorable homecoming in Newport on the 1st March. Also, "Polythene" goes silver, YWTS goes gold!.

Second single "Forget About Tomorrow" gets lifted from the album, and sees a rather unusual video of just Grant taking part, but is entertaining nonetheless :-). It charts at an excellent #12 after moving in and out of the top 10 all week, and gives Feeder their 9th TOTP appearance. The single helps CIS go platinum, as it re-enters the top 75 for 10 weeks reaching #21 on it's second re-entry, shipping over 300.000 to stores in total. The same week the album goes platinum, Feeder make their main stage debut at Glastonbury playing an amazing show which made my heart pound with excitement, and took the whole festival by storm. 5 songs from the set were broadcast live on BBC3 despite a slight mess-up with "Descend" in which they thought the song ended, only for it to start back up again. The highlights show rectified it. Soon later "Echo Park" goes platinum!.
