| When this was first released, it was seen by many fans as the best half-hour on CD. However in 2001 it was re-issued much to fans disgrace, as they seen it as a money-spinning attempt by the record company to re-issue older material. Due to this a boycott occured and undeservingly stalled at #91 in the album chart. Nethertheless, this is a great mini-album turned full album. It starts off with the rocking "Sweet 16" which tells a very interesting story about stalking (quite scary too!), with commerial debut single "Stereoworld" continuing with the heavy riffs of the last track. Netherthless, there are different moods on this album, in the shape of the haunting "Descend" and the haunting acoustic effort of the title track. The other tracks are all b-sides on singles released during the "Polythene" era, and I talked about those in the singles section! :-). All in all, a great package. Not worth buying if you have all the singles and the original issue, but I bought it anyways!!!! |

| Feeder's first full-album proper. This probably holds the lowest chart placing for a certified album ever!. Nethertheless, it's a total corker and deservingly won Metal Hammers Best Album of 1997 award in the process. It even scored 10/10 when they reviewed it!. This album is a belter. Many fans consider this Feeder's greatest work, and was eagerly awaited on the underground rock scene before it's original release. Each track demonstates Feeder's take-on of what the Smashing Pumpkins do best, continuing the fine work of the "Swim" mini-album, but with a lot more kick in the songs. Look out for the tracks "My Perfect Day" with it's uplifting chorus, "Radiation" with it's gritty guitars, the laid-back medicene of "Change" and the wonderful including memorable "Waterfall" which shouldn't have been dropped for the re-issue. And basically look out for everything on the whole album, because there are no duds here, including the quirky "20th Century Trip" which is intended to end the album, and on a very unusual one as well, and you have a downright amazing album that should grace everyone's CD rack. |
