Geant simulation

The Geant simulation needs the definition of a specific geometry and the used materials. The simple geometry involve a volum called UNIV containig the SSD volum. For this simulation also two telescope of each four ssd modules are insered in the UNIV volum.

SSD geometry

All the modules are standard SSD modules of 4 * 7 cm and a thickness of 30 micron. The tested SSD is placed in the centre of the UNIV volum, so the MCS is also the local coordinate sistem for the module.

For this simulation two new materials are created: air and silicium. The standard materilas of Geant include air, but to avoid differences from the material of aliroot program a new material is created. Geometry and materials are in the UGEOM subroutine.

The beam choosed for the simulation is made of pions of 3 GeV momentum. The beam is setted by a card read runtime. The result for the energy loss in the SSD is showed in the figure; the data analysis is performed using ROOT Version 3.03/09.
