In late 2005 Federated Crush began as a solo acoustic project by Brandon Runion. After the split with his previous band he began writing a more developed acoustic sound for stage. In January 2006 Federated Crush released their first full length acoustic album entitled Ameliorate. With steady speed the album grew in popularity and soon Runion asked Bryan Runion (drums) and Bryn Fretz (bass) to accompany him on stage pushing Federated Crush to the forefront of acoustic rock in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area. During spring 2006 the trio began working on a second full length with the full band. In June 2006 Federated Crush released and began touring the mid-western United States on the follow up album entitled Orange.
Shortly after the 2006 summer tour Bryn Fretz pulled out of the band to focus on his current project Fairwell leaving Federated Crush without a bass player. Salvation came in Seth Lamar (bass) and long time friend Jon Sanders (keys). Federated Crush began working on a new project that would bring a new flare to the live show and a more piano fronted sound. During August of 2006 The Commencement | The Reproach of LoveEP was released making it the third installment of Federated Crush. After a short run and hard hitting shows and a surge of fans Jon and Seth stepped down from the band and again Federated Cush began looking for the right fit.
During winter 2006 Making Movement and A Live Flux were released. Making Movement was a more experimental electronic based album focusing on new genres and previous works never released. A Live Flux, a live album, was recorded live at The Attic in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The album featured new music as well as some other popular tracks such as Know Who You Are performed acoustic.
With a new year around the corner Federated Crush began the booking process for the summer of 2007 as well as finishing a new album. In May 2007 Federated Crush released the sixth full length album entitled These Four Walls. Coined on a mixing of full band rock sound and heartfelt acoustic ballads the album gained great success on Federated Crushs second tour of the mid-west and west coast tour of the United States in the summer of 2007.
During the fall of 2007 Federated Crush will begin touring the mid-west on a regular basis hitting some of their favorite venues. After the summer 2007 tour Federated Crush has added Derek Miltz (guitar) and Brian Rayburn (bass) and has begun works on two upcoming albums. The first set for release in early October 2007 is entitled Heartfelt Melodies and features favorites from past albums performed full band and rewritten to match the live show. Work on a new full length album is ongoing and set for release June 2008 just in time for their U.S. tour.
