I know this now to be true;
Everything is entwined
When your flesh is injured does your soul not cry out
When you soul is injured does your heart not ache
Such is the circle

The trail of the spirit has many features
Wide open plains
Steep mountains
Dense wood
Deep ravines
Raging rivers of tears
Quiet Lakes of peace
And trickling singing streams which feed both

Many paths may appear to trick you
Show great promise but lead away from your destination
Look again,
The vista from this point may make the path clearer
Revealing the landscape
Its beauty or its dangers
Accept the trickery as a wondrous gift

All creatures are family, equal and diverse
May the fish not dream of flight?
May the bird not dream of swimming?

If the fish dives and makes the bird chase him
Does he not help his brother in his dreamquest
If the bird catches the fish and carries him into the air
Does he not give him wings?
Both need the other to realise their vision
Such is the balance of the circle
Such is the giving

Now my name is clear to me
This is my vision

The angry troubled Warrior given colour
A gift from the Rainbow Dreamer

My Soul now rides with the Warriors of the Rainbow

Confusion

Confusion will be my epitaph
Outstanding doubts still linger
No clarity of narrow path
Fate withholds her finger
Until the truth is run to ground
Settling this troubled mind
Intense mazes spin me around
Obtuse uncertainty leaves me blind
Nefarious nemesis of contentment

Guitar

She leans against the wall
Curvaceous, tempting
Bulging with promise
Daring you to run you fingers
Down that long slender neck

She comes to you
Both your contours
Interlock perfectly
Sat on your lap
You can do nothing
But embrace her

Tentatively at first
Fingers explore
Right hand finds
Her only item of lingerie
Loving tugs create sensual vibrations
As the left fingers dance
Between the C and G

One mission, one pleasure
Make her moan and crescendo.

Tatter of  Lace

The tactile fingers
Intertwining then parting
A digital ballet, Finger buffet
Moulding the contours
Sensing their way

Gossamer, delicate
Strength that could hold you
Or comfort a child in its gentlest of days
The web of lace revealed now before you
Responds with a magic to spellbind a sage

Long Beach Day

The bracing wind
The salty air
The memory of
You standing there

The lapping waves
Crawl up the sand
To clear the heart
Drawn from my hand

Carried off
To distant shore
My soul screams
Like an angry gull

With every wave
The words, un-uttered
Im sorry
Crashes in my scull

I skiff a stone
Acr
oss the water
I crouch
and try
To teac
h our daughter

I watc
h her squeal
In pur
e delight
Her pebbl
e bounces
Out of sight

She hug
s me,
Wow
that went a mile!
In her
eyes
I see yo
ur smile

I fight back tears
Theyll have to wait
Cmon now doll
Its getting late.

Font of Rebirth

Some of the finest beings I have ever met are typefaces
Ambassadors, proxies, intermediaries,
Bereft of the stereotypical restrictions of;
Gender
Stature
Ability
Disability
Anorexia
Obesity
Wealth
Poverty
Social standing
Fashion
Nationality
Creed
Age
Melanin produced colour
And the ever in-definable, Beauty

Each free to re-define themselves
Truer to theyre inner personas
To reveal new personal truths to the worlds eye
To join with others in a community of revelation
Or perhaps of concealment,
Therein lies the choice

Stripped of all external misrepresentations
Over time, the mind and soul
Within the skeletal cage emerges
Naked of pre-conceptions
Dressed only in liberated words
Of internal exposure.

The Faerie Catcher

The faerie catcher
Stalks the night
And sets his snares
Of pale moonlight

He knows his prey
Cannot resist
The thought of wingtips
Lunar kissed

But as they dance
Within the beam
The faerie catcher
Creeps unseen

He pounces on
His gentle prey
The bag snaps shut
Their world turns grey

He slithers back
Into the fog
With wriggling sack
To tease his dog.

He bounds, He twirls,
He salivates
He hears his master
Close the gate

Already he can taste
Wings crunch,
He does love faeries
For his lunch.

(For Angela) ;o)

Authors Note
No faeries were actually
killed or injured in the
production of this poem
Sssssssh

Sssssssh!
Did you hear? That little scurry?
Maybe a rabbit, in a hurry
To hide his store of Easter eggs
Before the children rise from bed

Perhaps it was the Elfin Folk
As they conspire to play a joke
Upon an unsuspecting Fairy
And shower her with elderberry

A Magpie swooping from the tree?
To gather trinkets? Well maybe
A Hedgehog in his purple shoes
Out strolling as he reads the news?

Or a dormouse that has overslept
And hasnt had his breakfast yet?
Who shuffled out, in crumpled nightgown
Embarrassed now, in High Street, Micetown

Lets sneak up for a closer look
Ssssh! Look over there! Beside the brook
Just behind the swaying grasses
An old Owl searching for his glasses.

FairyMoon

The sight missed by the sleeping loon
Lake water set alight
By shimmers from the FairyMoon
Upon this hallowed night

The dancers now assemble
On yonder lily leaf
And clarion the water nymphs
That slumber underneath

The pixie harps begin to play
The nymphs adjoin with song
This night of magic underway
Until it greets the dawn

The fairy dancers form a ring
Reflecting the new moon
Then spiral up on fluttered wings
Raised up my sorcerous, tune

The fairy queen in captured trance
Her smiling eyes agleam
Breaks away and take her chance
To ride the pale moonbeam

She twirls her dress in swirling flight
Encircling the lunar orb
Elves look in awe upon the sight
Their widened eyes absorb

But hark a chirp alerts the fawn
A lilac glow portend
Approaching now the coming dawn
This mystic night must end
Amethyst Dawn

The crumpled heart thats crushed
Like a flower now unfurls
Lit by rays of happiness
As the woman hugs the girl.

Bivouac In Dubiety

Doubt and fear encircle my encampment
I felt safe,
Felt secure,
Felt strong
Now I hear the twig snap of uncertainty
Feel the foreboding of loneliness
As it whispers through the trees
The eerie song of the banshee sings on the wind
Where do you sleep,
What do you dream,
Why?

A Soul Confined

Enclosed within this cage of nettles
Every attempt at movement generates more pain
Yet better the searing awakening agony of an ambitious soul
Than to make no attempt at prising open the stinging stems of constraint
And to uncomfortably, passively, wither from lack of illumination
Far beyond this harrowing harness of conformity
May lie contentment, relief and enlightenment
And the healing salve of Love

Dawns Rewards

Not a glance has rested on you
No shared smile across a room
But I have watched you weave such magic
Tapestries from Dreamers Loom

The golden strands of glitter dust
Entwined with sunshine yellow
The ragged tear of lifes heart blood
With needlepoint in mellow

All stretched upon a solid frame
And held in place with care
When you reveal your finished gifts
I pray Im waiting there

To gaze upon the wondrous drapes
That cloaks the soul so tight
A shield against complacency
To those that feel the light

Southern Light

The impish angel spoke with me
From far across a wire
With tempered words of gentle hope
Sagged spirits lifted higher

Dare to care her words sang out
Though silent to the ear
Embraced of love and blessed she
No fear in glacial tear

The challenge made and understood
Dark confusion drifts away
Find the path back through the wood
Theres dragons yet to slay

Never Alone

On every quest thats worth the test
No one man walks alone
The cause will draw a fellowship
To bring the children home

A bedraggled band of vagabonds
All stained with battle scars
Find might within their frailty
To prise apart the bars

The bars that hold the trusting heart
The cell that will not let you sing
The cage of kindness will be breached
By a Fellowship of the Ring

The Ring of Laughter found again
Of arms outstretched and giving
To sleep, perchance to dream once more
The dreams of one day .. Living

Heard

Sunrise of the child
Awoken from long sleep
Touched with angels breath
The two compelled to meet

Her muted voice spoke to an ear
Compacted against pain
That voice within the void
Now listened to with shame

The essence the woman
Neither guilty nor to blame
Victims kept apart
Both prisoners of Cain

The ear now clears, The gag now gone
The woman hears the girls song
A sad lament of torn soul
Binds the wounds
Now both are whole.
