Chapter one
Hisoka was sitting at his desk working on finishing up his paperwork when he heard two voices speaking outside of the door of the office that he and Tsuzuki shared. Though he usually doesnt like to eves drop, this time he couldnt help it since he caught Tsuzukis name being spoken and wanted to know what they were talking about with such low voices that had to do with his partner, who had left early today for reasons unknown to anyone but himself.
Tsuzuki I wonder if he has noticed? I mean, Im sure everyone has noticed how in love- Tatsumi whispered to Watari, who broke him off to say:
Im not so sure I mean, he is really smart although he doesnt act like it all the time but you never know. He can be quite Naive at times and this may be one of the times maybe you should talk to him about it.
At these words Hisoka stopped listening completely.
This cant be happening Tatsumis in love with Tsuzuki I should have noticed before wait a sec! Why am I even feeling this way? I mean, its not like Tsuzuki is mine, or Im in love with himis it?
But whats this strange feeling that I have? Like all the air in my body is being sucked out. Maybe I am getting sick, I think I should go outside for a little while.
With that he teleported outside to the cherry trees, not wanting to use the door since Watari and Tatsumi were still standing there talking.
Sitting down with his back against the tree, Hisoka stared up at the now star-filled sky. He still doesnt understand why he is feeling this way - I mean - hes an Empath so he should be able to tell what hes feeling? Whats the point of having empathy if it doesnt even help him know what hes feeling himself?
After a while it began to get cold but Hisoka didnt stir from the spot, still lost in contemplation even as the moon began to set and he fell asleep.
The next morning he was awakened by the sun shining in his eyes and a familiar presence nagging at the back of his mind.
Hisoka! What on earth are you doing out here this early in the morning? I knew you got up early but not this early!
Tsuzuki!
Abruptly sitting up, Hisoka answered - or, more precisely: yelled.
Tsuzuki damn you! Cant you leave me alone every once in a while?!
With that he ran off to his apartment.
Tsuzuki, upset and with a sad look in his eyes, walked slowly to work, not caring that it was still very early.
Back in his room, Hisoka was sitting on his bed staring up at the ceiling wondering what had possessed him to yell at Tsuzuki when he noticed the time. If he didnt leave now he would be late for work- and even if he didnt feel like working today at all, him not being there would probably attract more attention.
Heading into work proved harder than he thought, since of course Tsuzuki was there and it reminded him of last nights conversation and of his mistake that morning.
As Hisoka walked into their office, shutting the door quietly behind him, going and sitting down at his desk to look at the large pile of paperwork on Tsuzukis desk and the lack of it on his. Turning his eyes to Tsuzuki, he noticed how he was working on it, for once without sweets to distract him or complaining.
Deciding that there must be something wrong, most likely his sharp comment from earlier, Hisoka started to say something.
Tsuzuki Im-
But was cut off by the door opening with Tatsumi no less on the other side.
Tsuzuki, I need to speak with you. Please come with me to my office. And with that left the room.
Tsuzuki turned to Hisoka, his violet eyes still showing a deep sadness and shrugged his shoulders in defeat, turning to follow Tatsumi.
Wait! damn! Why did I just say that?! Well I cant just say nothing now but what should I say?
Why dont you come to my house after work?
I dont know Hisoka, I wouldnt want to bother youhe said quietly while leaving a defeated Hisoka to fall to his knees on the floor as the door shut.
What should I do now he hates me oh well, Im sure Tatsumi will make him happy I really love him, I cant believe I didnt notice before.
I feel sick, Im going home, I cant work now and anyway, theres nothing for me to do here.
So once again, Hisoka teleported, this time back to his house to land heavely on the bed and fall asleep curled up in a little ball.
