The pale moon in the sky peered down at them, watching as violet eyes slid from the white light of the moon to shimmering green eyes. A cool breeze ruffled blond hair that hid green eyes now closed. The night's air felt magical and calming, chilly but perfect and wonderful. More wind scattered pink Sakura petals around them, embracing them with beauty that no words could express. The violet-eyed man decided that there was definitely something magical in this night, like something big was going to happen that would change his life (or whatever it is when you are a Shinigami).
"We better get inside before we catch cold." Hisoka said as he shivered a little, hugging his small body. He smiled at Tsuzuki and started walking towards their house. Tsuzuki followed him silently, brooding over the blond boy's words. He said "we" and not regarding just himself or walking by himself like in the begining when they were just paired. They have changed so much. Both of them. They changed each other, supported each other. It was like they were paired to balance each other. He recalled the days when he was childish and Hisoka was acting older than his age, discrete and all alone and never wanted to get close to one.
"Ne Tsuzuki, what are you thinking of? You are too silent..."
"It's nothing..." Tsuzuki said, chuckling. He looked up at Hisoka's form as they walked together back to their recovering room. I don't want to be alone anymore... where I belong is by your side.... I need you... Hisoka's voice echoed through his head. Hisoka suddenly turned to face him and Tsuzuki almost bumped into him, for he was so deep in his thoughts.
"F-Forget about it.... I..." Hisoka looked away. "Hey! Wonna eat that cake? Wakaba-san bought it specially for you!"
Hisoka was trying to change the subject and Tsuzuki knew it, although he really wouldn't mind eating something. But why was he avoiding what he said himself? Did it make him uncomfortable? "Just leave it.... I was desperate..."
"No, Hisoka. Please tell me what you meant... I want to know..."
"I just didn't want to lose you," he said simply. "you were the only one who understood me the best and... you... are my closest friend.... " Hisoka flopped on one of their beds, and kept his gaze fixed on the floor. "It is hard for me to get this close to somebody after so many years of being on my own... if I were to lose you... I would have lost my trust again in people again... you are the only one I've ever let to get so close to me and I don't think I could find another friendship like this one... and..." Hisoka trailed off as two fingers pinched his chin and brought his face up in one level with Tsuzuki's face. Violet eyes were smiling at him. He smiled too. Tsuzuki took him into his arms and petted his head; and so they stayed hugging like this for a long moment.
When they separated, Hisoka was a bit disappointed. "C'mon! Let's eat!" he heard Tsuzuki say as he got himself up, only to be stopped by a small tug on the edge of the blanket that was draped over him. He looked back at Hisoka who seemed just as startled as he was by the small gesture. "I... " Hisoka looked up into Tsuzuki's eyes and then smiled again. "I'll bring it to you. You sit here and rest." He said as he got up and went to the small table. "Arigatou, Hisoka." He went back to Tsuzuki's side and sat beside him, holding the cake in one hand and in the other the knife, staring down at it. He started slicing it slowly, only to put the knife aside a short moment later. He kept staring down at the damn cake like it wasn't even there. He wanted to say something to Tsuzuki but didn't know quite what to say or how to say whatever he wanted to say. He looked up at the brown haired man and opened his mouth a little to say something, but no voice came out. The other man watched him with question; a question that the blond boy didn't know how to answer. What should he do? He could feel himself starting to sweat now. "Tsuzuki... the truth is... I..." "What is it, Hisoka?" Wide amethyst eyes, now filled with worry, stared at him. Hisoka stared back at him and then leaned closer, touching his lips with his own. He was kissing him. Such a sweet and gentle kiss that Tsuzuki felt like he was melting into it, grasping ever so lightly the side of Hisoka's face and neck. A small moan escaped one of them and it brought Hisoka back to the reality the room and the kiss from the deep pleasure of the kiss. He quickly jerked away and gaped at the other man, watching an almost mirror expression of his own mixed emotions and bafflement. He blushed and breath out a quick "Gomen nasai", fleeing out of the room to far away. After getting over the slight shock, Tsuzuki got up and started running after him and quickly found him in the gardens of the House of Candles. The blond boy was leaned on a tree with his hand covering his face. He could hear the blond boy crying for some reason. "Hisoka..." he said softly. "Why are you crying? Why did you run away?" Big green eyes gaped at the other man's young face through blond bangs. "Leave me... I want to be alone." "Hisoka..." "Damn it, Tsuzuki! I don't know what I feel for you! I feel funny heat in my stomach and like my head is lighter and my knees are suddenly shaking and weak... and... and I just kissed you and I am not sure why and--" Hisoka trailed off again, feeling soft lips against his own, his eyes widening and then falling shut. Tsuzuki's slow kiss was tender and good. Tsuzuki sucked on the younger boy's bottom lip and licked playfully at his upper one. Hisoka felt like he was drowning in something so wonderful that he couldn't tell what it was, feeling his knees almost failing him, his hands go up to wound around the taller man's neck. A slight pain in the back of Hisoka's head told him to part for a moment to breathe. When he did so, he was panting and clutched closer to the taller man. "I love you too, Hisoka." Said that soft soothing voice into his ear, kissing him right above the earlobe. He felt his eyes sting and a small cool trail down his cheek. No one has ever said that to him. Not even Princess Tsubaki that he met on that ship in one of their missions. Not even his parents said that to him. They were scared of him and hated him. Now Tsuzuki was telling him that he loved him. Of course! He loved Tsuzuki! He hugged him tighter, nestling closer into the strong chest he was holding on to. "Don't leave me... I-I love you." He murmured against the fabric of Tsuzuki's blanket.Tsuzuki opened his blanket and closed it again draping both of them with the blanket's warmth. He pulled Hisoka back a little and peered down at his new lover. Watching the trails of tears, he wiped them with his gentle fingers and kissed his eyes. "I'm right here. I'm not going to leave you. It's okay now." He hugged him tight once more and walked him back inside, sneezing a little on the way.
Author's note: Well. Finished. Wow. I know, I know - it's short, almost too short. But it's still cute and Touchy. Baka. Crying for your own fic. Please please please review me what you think of my fic. This is my first (and my last, I guess) Yami no Matsuei fic. I hope you like it!!! Bye Bye!!! ^-^
