Situated in an Extinct volcanic crater, the Blue Lake exposes crystal clear water that has filtered underground as it slowly passes underground beneath the city through limestone.
Each year in November,the lake starts it's color change, to Winter sombre blue, to brilliant turquoise blue and back to sombre blue from March!
Many theories have been advanced about this anomily, but none have been proven!
with average depths, of 70metres the lake contains, 36,0000litres
Being the water source to a city 3,600 ML is pumped to holding tanks for the city and surrounding areas.
For this reason no Swimming or diving is alllowed, though tours are generated to see this wonder1
