This is my page dedicated to the Japanese Anime "DragonballZ", a site showing you people just how good this long running cartoon really is (its TOTALLY under-rated, WAY better than those damn Pokemon) enjoy

You can catch DragonballZ on Cartoon Network at 5:00 pm (GMT)

Note:The above picture of Goku was taken from an American "DragonballZ" site and as such that is how the yanks spell his name, i spell all the names as they appear in the anime and how they were originally printed for the series (Typicle yanks, always trying to Americanise everything)

Akira Toriyama

After spawning the instant hit " Dr.Slump", Toriyama began to think about other plans for a new manga-series. He began with an idea, "Dragon Boy" a short, mini-series comic that appeared in a weekly Japanese-manga magazine-which inspired him to release "Dragonball" later on. Based on the ancient Chinese fable "Pilgrimage to the West" or "The Journey To The East" about a monkey boy (Goku), a three-eyed god (Tenshinhan), and a desert bandit (Yamcha) . "Dragonball", Akira Toriyama's second manga comic turned TV series, was an extremely successful show which spawned 4 movies and two additional TV series. Even though all three series have long since ended, "Dragonball" still has a large legion of fans all across the globe. With it's fairly recent release on American and European TV, "Dragonball" has become one of the most popular anime series of all time along with GundamWing, Sailor Moon and the recent Pokemon (blah!)

"Dragonball"

The first anime is based on Akira Toriyama's manga comic. It focuses more on humor than action, quite unlike the following two anime. "Dragonball" was finally released. Telling a tale of a young boy with a monkey tail named Son Goku and his adventures with the goal of obtaining the legendary Dragon Balls.

"DragonballZ"

When the first series ended it's run on TV, the manga comic for "DragonballZ" was still being produced by Toriyama. Wanting to tap into the comic's success, a new series was created known as "DragonballZ," which continued the story of Goku and his adventures, now with his son, Gohan by his side

"DragonballGT"

"Dragonball GT" was produced mainly for one thing: money. When Toriyama finally ended his massive manga comics, the TV executives decided to go on without him. "Dragonball GT" proved to be a moderately successful series, but by this time Dragonball had become stale in Japan, and it ended relatively early.

The SSJ you see in the pictures on this site stand for Super Saiya-Jin (pronounced Say-an) which is a state that only the Saiya-Jin race can reach, when in this state they become VERY powerful. The numbers 1,2,3, and 4 you may see after this represent the level that character is. They are 4 Super Saiya-Jin levels (not including Ultra Saiya-Jin which is a state between level 1 and 2, only used once by Future Trunks in the Cell Saga) and and the higher the level they are the more powerful they become.
