Williston
    Welcome to Williston, Florida where country charm and city amenities meet!  Located in Levy County in north central Florida, Williston has a population of approximately 3,000 with more than 650,000 living within 50 miles.
    Williston has five schools located within the area.  A small municipal airport enhances industrial possibilities while both US 41 and US 27 meet in the center of town.  Interstate 75 is twenty miles away and a larger airport, Gainesville Regional Airport is located twenty-two miles to the north.  Within a fifty miles radius are two community colleges as well as the University of Florida and Saint Leo University.
    Called the "Gateway to Florida's Nature Coast," Williston is proud of its centralized location yet "down home" feeling.  Surrounded by Ocala and Gainesville on one side and forests, rivers and rolling hills on the other, Williston has everything you need for a comfortable lifestyle.
    Williston's temperature averages 57 degrees in the winter and 82 degrees in the summer with an average rainfall of 56.7 inches per year.
    The city of Williston has all of the amenities needed for quiet country living including a hospital, nursing home, physicians and a dentist.  A shopping center anchors a Winn Dixie with other shopping opportunities available.  A quaint historical section houses some unique antique shops and hometown stores.  A spectacular restaurant, "The Ivy House" is a favorite among locals as well as a special treat for visitors.
    The city holds its annual Peanut Festival in October and its Miss Williston Pageant in November.  Rounding out activites is the annual Arts and Crafts Show in April, July 3rd celebration, Trail of Treaters in October and Light up Williston in December.

They even have a peanut factory outlet that is open to the public.
The outlet, located just south of downtown on US 41, also gives out some delicious samples!
