I see manifestations of lunacy,
the absurd mixing with the logical
and madmen pointing their fingers
to the pure and the innocent
raising their hand to strike
the rational and the serene.
I see the axis of evil
perpetually defining its direction
and rivers of madness,
crashing mightily upon and
etching away
the walls of reason and sanity.
I see Archangels leading the armies
of the slow-witted,
demagogues cheering the madmen,
and abandoned battlefields,
illusions of a macabre yellow
that sticks on metal.
I see life on a scale balanced by
a few gold coins,
and mothers crying over pieces of flesh
that once were a child.
I see the indifference of man,
flipping through TV channels looking for
more entertaining deaths.
I see us.
