Land of heroes and legends,

of Titans and Gods,

land of the pomegranate and the vine

the olive tree and the carob tree,

daughter of the Mediterranean and the Sun,

land of Aphrodite and Apollon,

of beautiful mermaids and muses,

land of passion and land of struggle,

land of man.

 

 

My spirit an orphan swallow

crosses the great ocean

to return to you in thought

and throw my body again

over the Cape Greco cliffs

into the Mediterranean blue,

drink the Mediterranean sun,

and join my dear old friends

I have neglected but not forgotten.
