So far,so good,(-so what?): Still struggling with the question if all this has any meaning as time goes to infinity. I doubt it. Life has led me to interesting places,I have met amazing people and have worked with exceptional scientists. Originally from Nicosia, Cyprus, I grew up in northern Greece (Macedonia), mainly in Kastoria and Thessaloniki and completed my military service in Cyprus. I am a physicist - mostly by accident and curiosity. My undergraduate work was at Iowa State University and I completed my PhD in physics at The Florida State University. My thesis advisor was Dr. Zachary Fisk. My post-doctoral work was at Los Alamos National Laboratory . My post-doc advisors were Dr. Albert Migliori and Dr. Jason Lashley. I also worked very closely with Dr. Hassel Ledbetter. I am currently an assistant professor of physics at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. All parts of my education have been extremely fulfilling but my most gratifying accomplishments are my children: my son Philippos Renos and my daughter Irida Maria. For my children I thank my beautiful wife Carolyn.
I am a humanist. According to Jung Typology my personality type is INTJ. My interests change quite often so no useful information will be conveyed to the interested party by listing the current ones. Naming daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities as interests is non-sensical since they will take place regardless of whether the association has been made. In general I tend to pursue activities that either require thought or no thought whatsoever.
