| Who is SULLIVAN FALL? Sullivan Fall spent his first sixteen years in a very small city in the Canadian prairies where his first instrument was tuba. Eventually, he learned bass and spent time in numerous failed basement bands. He began writing his own songs soon after he had some proficiency on the bass, as it was more interesting than learning other people's songs. He kept these songs mostly to himself until he released a self-made cassette when he was 16, selling thirteen copies. Sullivan gradually began to play guitar, from which he now writes most of songs. After two years in Kamloops, where he remained largely invisible, he left for Victoria, where he resided for three years. In the summer of 2000, Sullivan recorded his first full band album, LIFE BETWEEN NOWHERES. It was recorded by Bruno M., with Sullivan playing all the instruments but drums, which were ably handled by Utter Nonsense frontman Luke Desaulnier. Sullivan chose the title because "I thought it sounded terribly pretentious and cynical. It's fairly enigmatic, with several possible meanings if someone cared to spend the time on it. I think it describes where a lot of the people in the songs spend their time, too." Sullivan's label FALL DOWN RECORDS created its own website in the fall of 2000. Sullivan Fall currently lives in Calgary. Among his future projects are A KIND OF GREY, an 18 song "popera"; a concept album called SONGS FROM WENTWORTH DRIVE; and a country music album (like Merle Haggard, not Faith Hill) entitled EVERYBODY'S GOT A REASON TO CRY. |
