Greetings! This is the part where I tell you about myself!
I was born in Plainfield, Indiana, home of the fighting Quakers. That is where I spent the first eighteen years of my life. That is where I spent the first eighteen years of my life. I then moved to Bloomington Indiana where I majored in History and East Asian studies. My specialty was in Korean. I continued at Indiana University where I earned a Masters in East Asian studies. My first year I earned a SOFOKS scholarship (Society of Friends of Korean Studies) and my second year I worked as an associate instructor. I graded papers and led a weekly discussion session. Now I am studying at the University of British Columbia under Professor Donald Baker. There, I am studying pre-modern Korean religious history, especially Buddhism, Christianity, and Confucianism. I will also study Chinese and Japanese history and religion. I also will study Catholicism in those three countries.
Im something of a history buff, especially pre-modern times. C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and G.K. Chesterton are my favorite authors. I also enjoy gaming and am working on a team with some of my friends to produce a game. My idea of a good time is to just hang around with my friends or discuss theology, metaphysics, and history. The most definitive thing about me is that I am a staunch Catholic. I converted several years ago. My confirmation name is Chong Kuk-Bo Protasius (one of the Korean martyr saints. Because I frequently travel I have a strong devotion to Saint Christopher and Raphael.
In this website you will find pictures of a lot of my friends and my various travels. My friends are very important to me. My parents are also extremely important and I love them dearly, but as they dont like having their pictures taken, you arent going to find many pictures of them on this site. |
