Snakes
1st Snake:
My first and bigest snake I encountered near my house was about 4-5 feet long and about 2.5 inches wide. Its mouth from the inside was white; which means "venomous." It was a cottonmouth water mocassin, as other people identified it. I had to put it down because I did not want anybody to get hurt, and it was my first encounter with one. I freaked out.
2nd Snake:
My second snake that I captured near my house, was caught alive. It was about 2.5 feet long and about 0.75 inch wide. People told me that it was non-venomous. It was a garter snake. The garter snake is a constrictor; which means that it squeezes its prey untill it's dead. Then, it swallows it. Pretty fascinating. huh!
3rd Snake:
My third and most beautiful snake I encountered near my house. It was about 2 feet long and about 1.5 inches wide. It was a corn snake, as other people identified it from its magnificent coloration. Corn snakes are non-venomous. Poor little guy has one eye only. The other, I don't know where it is, but you can clearly see the outer edge of the good eye is white, while the bad eye doesn't have an outer edge.
4th Snake:
My fourth snake I've seen near my house was about 2 feet long and about 1 inch wide. It was a corn snake, as the guy that came to take it out told me. That snake went into the AC unit outside of my house and never got out. It was probably in there for about 2 days. It stunk up the air outside the house. Again, corn snakes are non-venomous.
