FIREFIGHTERS FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

You are invited to own a franchise and participate in the FDFFL for the 2009 pro football season. This year we have 32 teams, which will be split into four conferences, with two divisions in each conference.  A total of 50 trucks will be collected from each franchise owner the evening of the draft. A total of 2˝ trucks will also be collected for each of eleven regular season games and four post season games, and an additional 12˝ truck bonus for a total of 100 trucks. The total number of trucks a team can win will depend upon the number of games won, the final season standings, and how well a team does in the playoffs.

WEEKLY LINEUP

A starting lineup consists of:

1 Quarterback (QB)

2 Running Backs (RB)

2 Wide Receivers (WR)

1 Flex Player (RB, WR, or TE)

1 Tight End (TE)

1 Place Kicker (K)

A new starting lineup MUST be turned in by game time. This may be called in by phone, or posted on the FleaFlicker web site. If a new lineup is not submitted, the previous week’s lineup will be used.  When there is a Thursday night game, lineups may be submitted after Thursday, as long as no changes are made involving players playing on Thursday. If a team submits a lineup and decides to make a change in the lineup, that can be done as long as the move does not affect any games that have already been played.

SUPPLEMENTARY DRAFTS

These drafts will be held after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th games of the season. Each franchise can draft one additional player. The order of the draft is determined by the team’s won/loss record, with ties broken by the number of points the teams scored up to that point. Worst record drafts first, and in the case of ties, least points first. This draft will take place using the FleaFlicker waiver system. The draft will start Tuesday morning and run through Thursday evening. Draft picks will be processed Friday morning.  After all the draft picks are processed on Friday morning, those franchises that have not selected any players may do so on a first come, first served basis. Picks must be made prior to the next draft. Draft choices cannot be "saved" until the next draft. The Supplementary Draft should be used to avoid situations where a team does not have enough players at a position due to a bye week.

REPLACEMENT DRAFT

1. During the first 4 weeks, franchises are entitled to a replacement draft any time they are unable to field a complete seven man team unless the need for a player is the result of a bye week only.

2. To make a replacement draft, the franchise may waive a player (injured, benched, cut, drafted as a starter but no longer starting) from any position, and then draft a player for the position that is short.

3. After week ten there are no byes, so you must drop a player from the same position as the one you draft. The exception here is that if the replaced player ends up playing, then the replacement draft is void and the player that ended up playing is back on your roster.

4. Replacement draft picks are not first-come first-serve. A team has until Friday of that particular week to make a decision on a Replacement pick. If two teams are attempting to use their replacement draft pick to claim the same player, then the team with the worst record will draft first.

5. If there is a supplementary draft that week, the supplementary draft takes precedence.

WAIVER WIRE
Free agents will be awarded using a prioritized waiver wire system. Team owners may select free agents they wish to acquire via the waiver wire on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning in week 5 of our season (after we have played 4 games). Waiver wire award order will be worst to first by each team's position in the standings.

Player requests must be submitted by 11:59pm Eastern each Wednesday night for award between midnight and 6:00am Eastern Thursday morning. Team owners will be awarded players in reverse order of standings, worst to first. Beginning with the worst team in the league, each team owner will be awarded a single player. Then the second worst team in the league will be award one player, and so on. After each team in the league has been awarded a maximum of one player, the process will repeat beginning with the worst team in the league. This process will repeat until all player requests have been evaluated. If a team makes no player request, that team will not be awarded any players.

FREE FOR ALL
Beginning with week 5 of the season, each Thursday at noon Eastern through 12:59pm Sunday free agents will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. Teams may pick up free agents at anytime during this free for all period. Team owners may not pick up players after kickoff their game in any week.

PROTECTED FREE AGENTS
In order to prevent collusion or coordinated drop trades, any player released from any roster via the waiver wire or the free for all free agent period shall remain a protected free agent for 48 hours. This means the player will not be available to be acquired by any team until 48 hours afte the player was dropped.

In a further effort to prevent collusion or unfair competition, if certain highly productive players are dropped they will become unavailable free agents for the duration of the season. Team owners will be allowed to replace those players, but other team owners will not be allowed to acquire the dropped players as free agents.

Additionally, after NFL week 10 of the season all dropped players will become protected free agents for the duration of the season. Team owners will still be allowed to drop and replace players, but other team owners will not be allowed to acquire any dropped players as free agents.

TRADING RULES

Trades can be made up until the 9th game of the season. Trading period is after the Monday night games and before rosters have been turned in for the next week’s game. The trades may be submitted on the FleaFlicker website and then approved or denied by the Commissioner. If it appears that two franchises are trading together to build an "All-Star" team, a league vote can be called for and a majority must approve or deny the trade. Trades should be considered permanent. Teams cannot make "temporary" trades.

FRANCHISE PLAYER

The Quarterback position is considered the Franchise Position.  Once a Quarterback is drafted by a franchise, the rights to all the Quarterbacks from that particular NFL team will be retained by the franchise.  If the starting Quarterback is injured, benched, cut, etc. then a franchise may select his backup as it's starter.  If a player is submitted as the starting Quarterback on the Lineup Board and subsequently becomes injured or replaced prior to game time, then the replacement will be made automatically by League Offices.  Points will be accrued by the starting Quarterback only. If the starter is injured during the game, points will not be given for his replacement for that game.

SUPER BOWL

Division winners and wild card entries go to the Super Bowl Tournament. The team with the best record will play the team with the worst record. The team with the next best record will play the team with the next worst record and so on down the line. Teams that lose in the first round of the Super Bowl Tournament will advance to the Consolation Bowl Tournament. During playoffs, ties will be broken using the following scoring: Match position vs position.  QB vs QB.  RB total vs RB total.  WR total vs WR total.  TE vs TE.  K vs K. Whoever has the highest point total, out of a possible 5 points, is the winner.

SHIT BOWL

Teams that do not qualify for the Super Bowl Tournament will go to the Shit Bowl Tournament. Matchups for the Shit Bowl Tournament will be the team with the best record vs the team with the worst record, and then the team with the next best record vs the team with the next worse record, and so on. Losers of the first round of the Shit Bowl Tournament will go to the Toilet Bowl Tournament. Losers advance in the Toilet Bowl Tournament until one team comes out as the Toilet Bowl Champion.

CHOKE OF THE YEAR

The franchise that has the worst coaching percentage, will be declared the Choke of the Year.

WEEK 17

Conference Tournaments will be played during the last week of the season.   You will be competing against all the other franchise owners within your Conference. Your team will be composed of 3 players from a your regular team, and 4 players from any other franchise in the league. Which players at which position you play, will be your decision.  You must play the standard lineup of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1TE, and 1K.  Each Conference will be playing for a 25 Truck payoff, one winner per Conference.
