The Great Coconut Hunt.
As with all great travelers it's only natural, when you go to these exotic places to take place in some big game hunting. Now we don't like any of this killing business, especially of animals (mind you, there are plenty of one can of animal and most of them are no bloody good, but we shouldn't talk about people like that). Anyway, Harri and myself fancied a good bit of Coconut hunting while we were in the region. Very tricky things to hunt are coconuts. It requires great stealth, daring and bravery, especially when you get to the final 'rush'. This is where once you have the nut in your sights you must firstly rush directly at it traveling at at least 300 km/hour and then your have to body swerve madly to confuse the coconut and then circle it. This 'rush' will make the nut dizzy and render it completely helpless - then you have it !
Anyway, here is the story of out Coconut hunt. Firstly were survey the area from a lofty vantage point. It's essential to understand the lie of the land before embarking on such and expedition. This was a prime nut hunting beach.
"I hate it when he does that 'ear on my head' trick, thinks he's so clever !!" (Harri)
Now, down in the action. Here we are on the beach, next to us is an old 'nut'. Could this be the famed "Coconut Graveyard" ?

All work and no play makes FD & Harri dull boys so here's a shot of us having a quick sunbath - we love this. A favourite pastime if ever there was one !

As it turned out is wasn't the famed "Coconut Graveyard", that's a story best saved for the paying website. We managed to find a wonderful specimen. As we mentioned before, the 'rush' is where you get them, unfortunately during the 'rush' when your life flashes before your eyes there is no time to be messing with a camera. Anyway, needless to say, we were both heroes and the following pictures shows us back home on the steps of the lodge with our trophy. What a splendid example of a nut in it's prime !

Now it's time to relax and watch the evening draw in and let the mosquitoes bite (bastard things).

And to round the day of nicely what could be better than a beer in the bed. Apologies for the two 'hangers on', they were people we met in the bar and the came back to our room for a drink. We think that they were a couple of weirdo no hopers who were trying to avoid sleeping in their car. We'll we threw them out and nicked their drink for good measure. Wouldn't want them to get found drunk in charge now would we.

And so to sleep after another great adventure.
