PADIHAM 0 - 3 FC UNITED
United booked their place in the second round of the FA Vase on saturday with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Padiham.
A determined Padiham side held out the reds until 25 minutes from time, when fresh from his return from honeymoon, Simon Carden struck from close range after linking up well with Giggs. Carden added his second and United's second eight minutes later to confirm victory against a Padiham side who'd done well to keep United out but did little to threaten Sam Ashton's goal. Top goalscorer for the season Stuart Rudd wrapped up the scoring on 90 minutes with a beautifully taken lob over the keeper.
FC now face Salford City away in the 2nd round in a return to the scene of their first defeat this season.
