Simon is a versatile player who has had two spells at Clitheroe for whom he has played in just about every position, including goal. He rejoined Clitheroe in 2005, and has made over 70 appearances, and was captain of the team in the 06/07 season. His previous spell at Clitheroe was back in 2002, where he joined from Great Harewood. After a season there he went to Kendal Town, and then to Prescot Cables, before joining Hyde United for three games in 2005. A return to Clitheroe saw him stride into his best form, and he has become something of a cult hero there. After a season that saw him named in every squad where he was available, he was signed by Fleetwood Town, but following few first team oppurtnites he took the chance to play for FC.
