FC UNITED 3 - 1 WHITBY
FC UNITED boss Karl Marginson believes the Rebels have now shown there is life after Rory Patterson and Stuart Rudd.
FC will renew acquaintances with their former strike pair tonight as they visit Bradford Park Avenue, who lured Patterson and Rudd from the Rebels this summer.
Kyle Wilson has been tasked with taking on the goal-scoring duties and struck a hat-trick to take his tally to six in just five league games.
"Every game we've had against Bradford Park Avenue has been a close encounter," said Marginson. "I'm sure this one'll be no different and we'll try to win it.
"It wasn't fantastic by any means on Saturday but we played well in patches and it's something to build on.
"Some people said we'd struggle to score goals after losing the two lads from last year but I don't think that's going to be the case and Kyle went out and proved it on Saturday."
Danny Self could continue at right-back tonight after filling in for Liam Foster on Saturday, while Dave Neville and Adam Turner are suspended.

BAGULEY ON TARGET TO SECURE FIRST WIN
BUXTON 0- 1 FC UNITED
KARL Marginson paid tribute to his battling players and the relentless supporters after his side picked up their first win of the season at Silverlands.
The Rebels headed into Monday's clash with Boston United at Gigg Lane buoyant after Jamie Baguleys superb left foot strike, on the end of a clever passing move, secured victory.
Todays game is expected to attract a bumper crowd, with under-18s allowed in free, and Boston who were in the Football League just three years ago expected to bring a sizeable support.
FCs own travelling support of more than 1,000 were in raptures at Baguleys goal, and Marginson felt the victory was a sure sign that his side are settling to life at UniBond League premier division level after opening with a draw and a defeat.
We didnt need the win for self-belief, because that has not been a problem here, said the Rebels manager.
The lads here are all good footballers, but it is about finding our feet after being promoted, and this result shows everyone we can compete because Buxton are a fair old side.
Marginson insists that his teams go out with attacking %intent, but he was delighted with the clean sheet after leaking five goals in the first two games of the season.
I thought we defended really well. Dave Chadwick was immense at the back, and his partner Adam Turner is learning all the time.
But the whole team %defended well. Kyle Wilson was magnificent up front. I was asked who our man of the match was, and I think Kyle maybe edged it because of his workrate, hold-up play and all-round game.
We worked hard when we didnt have the ball, worked just as hard to keep possession, and went forward intelligently.
The last three years have been hectic and stressful at times, but when you get a result like that, and see our fans singing their heads off, it makes everything worthwhile.
FCs better passing game paid off on 64 minutes when Wilson held the ball on the left and cleverly brought in Chris Baguley. He squared the ball to his brother Jamie in space on the right, and his first-time shot arrowed past flailing Buxton goalkeeper Scott Hartley.

REDS LET IT SLIP
CAMMEL LAIRD 2- 1 FC UNITED
FC UNITED were left with just a single point from their opening two UniBond premier division games after sinking 2-1 at Cammell Laird.
Kyle Wilson gave the newly-promoted Rebels a 20th minute lead when he turned sharply and fired home from the edge of the box.
But Neil Black quickly equalised and was again on target in the 37th minute to send Karl Marginsons men crashing to defeat.
FC pressed hard for an equaliser after the break but were made to suffer when they had strong claims for a penalty waved aside after Dave Chadwick appeared to have been impeded inside the six-yard box.

BAGULEY LATE SHOW BAGS POINT
FC UNITED 3 - 3 MATLOCK TOWN
FC UNITED began life in the UniBond League premier division with a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Matlock Town.
A crowd of 2,343 up on last season's average watched as the Derbyshire club's centre forward Ross Hannah put the Gladiators one up after just eight minutes with a beautifully-judged chip over home keeper Sam Ashton.
But the Rebels, who were rocked in the summer by the departure of four key players, fought back well and one of their newcomers put them ahead with two goals in three minutes.
Striker Kyle Wilson confidently despatched a 17th minute penalty after Jamie Baguley had been fouled in the box, and with the fans still celebrating he outpaced the defence to reach a loose ball and score the second.
Matlock, who finished 16th at this level last season, were level five minutes before half time as Hannah again found a way through a dozing defence which has been shorn of stalwart Rob Nugent for the opening weeks.
It looked like the visitors had nicked the points when Dene Cropper headed home their third after 69 minutes.
But boss Karl Marginson's substitutions did the trick, with tall, elegant midfielder Dave Neville central in a terrific passing move which finally released another of the replacements, Chris Baguley, for a neat near-post finish with a minute of normal time remaining
