What is the Freire Writing Center?
Open to all Freire staff and students, a visit to the Writing Center can help you...
brainstorm a new personal writing project or get started on a class assignment;
organize your thoughts into a logical order;
come up with a clear and forceful thesis;
find supporting evidence in a text to support a thesis;
find and correct spelling, grammar, and mechanical errors in a paper;
revise a paper for style and content;
revise a short story, poem, or other creative writing project for publication;
revise a letter, memo, or other piece of business writing;
create or update a resume, cover letter, or personal statement;

Freire Writing Center FAQ...
Q: Who can use the center?
A: All Freire staff and students are welcome to use the Writing Center.
Q: Who will help me with my writing?
A: Mr. Ted and Ms. Stacey are available during both lunch periods. (Starting 2nd quarter,) Drexel student volunteers and (starting 3rd quarter,) Freire Writing Fellows will also be avilable for peer-editing services.
Q: What happens during a conference?
A: You will meet one-on-one with a Writing Center staff member and receive help with any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to final proofreading.
 
Q: What kinds of writing can the center staff help me with?
A:
Anything! Whether it's a one paragraph class assignment or a short story you wrote "just for fun," we are here to listen, read, and help.
Q: When is the center open?
A:
The Writing Center is open 4th and 5th pd (during both lunches) for appointments and, when available, "drop-in" service.
Q: Where is the center located?
A:
The Writing Center is located in Ms. Stacey's room, B15, which is in the basement of FCS.
Q: Do I need  to make an appointment?
A:
It's suggested you stop by the center to schedule an appointment. If no appointments are scheduled on a certain day, we welcome "drop-ins" on a first come, first served basis.
