Sudwerk Tops Penarol SC

DAVIS, Calif., Aug. 26, 2009 (AP) -- FC Sudwerk held on for a 6-5 victory over Penarol SC on Wednesday night after a three-goal lead nearly vanished in the second half.

Sudwerk super sub Kevin Dugger scored a hat trick, David Jagdeo tallied a pair and J.B. Rudell hit the back of the net with a terrific measured shot from 30 yards out.

Sudwerk was ahead 3-2 at half and took a commanding 5-2 lead before Penarol stormed back to draw within one. Jagdeo scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 82nd minute, but Penarol refused to go quietly and pulled one back in the 86th minute to make the final seconds interesting.

The red-and-black concludes the summer season with a match against archrivals Arsenal. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m., Thur., Sept. 3. A trip to the brewery afterwards is in order -- and you don't want to miss that! ##
